I think that this is an entire reboot. I don't think we will see old characters but it would be good to see at least some reference to what happened in ME3 but that may be hoping for a lot.

If I were to desire some closure, it would be to know what happened to the Milky Way galaxy in total after. Not individual stories, although that would be great to know what happened to Liara, etc, but just a big general understanding of what is going on with humanity in general after the events of ME3. I don't ask for much this time around. I want BioWare to really get it right for this next game so story focus needs to be very important.

I have no desire to see old characters, please leave that in the past. I can accept a few references and It would be surprising if BioWare didn't reference anything from the original trilogy. If you Ignore the OT of Mass Effect it would be like ignoring the OT of Star Wars. The essence of something is lost if you choose to ignore its origin.

I don't really want to know anything about the MWG, for now at least.

That's what I meant. Probably didn't write it well enough due to typing up various things. Yeah, what I meant that I want them to really focus on story is just that. If we are to have a totally new thing in Andromeda then give it a great and strong and full story focus so that the story doesn't have some of the pitfalls the previous games had. As to references, I am fine not knowing but it would be nice to have just a general reference to what has happened to humanity in the Milky Way Galaxy...not individual stories or playthroughs  giving time to old characters etc, just simply what happened to humanity as a whole. I am fine if even that doesn't get mentioned. I personally just want more story, more character development, deeper character immersion, deep story integration. It's what led me to Mass Effect in the first place. It's the first game I truly ever really cared about the characters.

I agree with both views.

But I will not pre-order the game, nor buy it new. Again, after ME3, and after four years of BSN, I learned whom trust with a rational opinion about the quality of BW projects. Many times it doesn't involve agreeing with said person. Just respecting their opinion.

The same goes for many gaming sites on the internet.

Fair enough.

I guess my first inclination is to question everything and just play it for myself. In the end, what others say about something tends to be irreverent 90% of the time.

I think you meant irrelevant. But a prefer when irreverence happens!
