Do you have any mods that affect rogue abilities, like Rogue Rebalancing? Also, it looks like you might be playing EE - if so, is RR compatible with EE? Do you have a "test" install (e.g., just the basic EE) to see if it happens there? Because if not, then of course a mod probably caused it.

Apologies Corey, for I should have posted the configuration right away. Anyway, it's only BG:EE + SCS in my case, so no Rogue Rebalancing.
Borco:
The Bounty Hunter is currently bugged in BGEE and BG2EE. The Otiluke's Sphere trap happens at levels 1 and 11. You can find more info, and a solution here.
Have fun with your Bounty Hunter (great kit!).
Many thanks, Blackraven! Evidently, the issue here is not only the incorrect effect of Bounty Hunter's special traps, but also the fact that they may not be thrown. I did notice this, but thought that this ability is gained with higher levels. I'll see whether the fix is able to deal both issues so that I may give BH a try. In which case, I'd also to like to do some reading on your and Alesia's no-reload runs.

You're welcome
I understand that special traps not being throwable is an intended BG1EE change. Bounty Hunters should be able to throw the traps in BG2EE though (without needing any mods for that). Maybe you could test this by starting a new game in BG2EE.
Not sure whether the fix makes any changes to throwability, as I've never played a Bounty Hunter in the EEs, let alone used the fix.
In which case, I'd also to like to do some reading on your and Alesia's no-reload runs.
I find it one of the most enjoyable solo classes (and my character Norgath one of the coolest I've created). Hopefully you'll have as much fun with your Bounty Hunter!

Borco, did you create a user account at Beamdog Forums? I can download the files and I would upload them for you here, but I don't know if I can. You could always create an account to download the files yourself.

I don't know if this question should come under this thread or not, but this is the question, does anyone know if there are any issues regarding Windows 10?
I haven't installed it yet and have windows 7, I would like to know if there are any issues before doing so.
AFAIK there are plenty of issues at the moment. Starting with screwed update routine and finishing with drivers problems. Personally, I'm going to wait at least a half year before switching (if at all...). It offers too little worth switching from Win 8.1 for me and even less so compared to Win 7 you have, in my opinion.
I have updated to Windows 10 and have not found any problems at all.
Probably because all my hardware is relatively new.
It was free and let's face it, the others won't be supported for ever. BG has no more bugs than it had before. The operating system had nothing to do with the problems that I have.

I'm running on WX as well... the gog install games work fine.
fyi 2023 is the cut off date for w8 so you still have time if you want to wait a bit more.

The only problem that I have so far is that I haven't discovered how to make Paint the default program for opening bmp files. The program that Windows 10 has as default doesn't appear to have a cut and paste function.
Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place for the commands.
EDIT
I've discovered how to do it, but it was easier in Windows 8. ![]()

Does anyone know whom owns this? I'd like to use it for Ormaline if I can get the ok.

So long as you don't distribute the files that you make to others, I can't imagine that anyone would mind. Though it is nice to be able to give credit to the artists. I do whenever I know who it is.

I've been thinking of upgrading "The Equalizer" for my next run... the current sword just doesn't fit as something you spend the game collecting parts for imo.
Any ideas for something powerful but not a game buster?
p.s. its a longsword.

If it's supposed to equalize fights then why not make it able to hit any opponent - say counting as a +6 weapon for the purposes of what creatures could be hit. The actual THAC0 and damage bonus would be much lower (potentially could stay the same as at the moment). That would at least make it a weapon worth collecting for a party, although it would still not be a standard choice.

Just to expand on your post, Wing, you could do a on-hit dispel magic (which can have friendly fire). Why not, they got that crazy two hand sword in the Underdark (a proc does a fireball on hit) - if you weren't solo seems almost crazy to use it.

A few thoughts.
* Bump it to +6 enchanted, as per Grond0's suggestion, making it a solid mainhand weapon
* or let Cespenar combine it with Kundane, making it an outstanding offhand weapon
*and/or let it set the wielder's alignment to neutral, thus conferring immunity to blights/smites, holy/unholy word
Best,
A.

Wouldn't that make any mage familiars change as well since they set themselves to the characters alignment i.e. your bat turns into a rabbit?
p.s. welcome back

Probably, yes. The Helm of Opposite Alignment will cause your familiar to change if it is, for example, released and re-packed. Presumably the modded equalizer would have the same effect.

Fyi My next run is bg2ee and I have upgraded The Equalizer for this test run... base enchant of + 6 and added imune to panic... all other states remain the same so for example against a true Neutral Dragon is would hit as disc roll + 4 and against a fallen Deva it would be disc roll + 10 of course being a +6 weapon means nothing is impossible to hit.
To compare; an upgraded Foa +4 would hit that Fallen Deva on disc roll + 7 and something like Blackrazer would be disc roll + 4... assumes no other effects.
Download sword file.

I may drop the i-panic latter but that doesn't strike me as over powered... at least not yet.

I'm hoping I will over the next few days, though, so I should have an update soon.
Well, better late than never, right?
I've been able to play up to chapter 6 in BG2 without anything going wrong, so I think I'm ready to release Jimfix v2. It can be downloaded here. If you're using v1 you should be able to just unzip v2 right on top of it and overwrite the old files when asked. v2 has four new components:
- Fix incorrect casting animations
- Prevent silent prebuffs
- Add spell school notifications to the combat log
- Add expiration notifications for buffs
I've included a proper readme this time as well. I'm not entirely satisfied with the implementation of the last two components, though. They can add a lot of extra messages to the combat log, but the BG2 engine doesn't really allow for much better.

It's great to see you again, GrimJim!
I'm not playing these days, but Jimfix v2 will definitely be on my install list if and when I get back in action.
Cheers!

Great work, GrimJim! A definite must for me from now on.
I'm curious if it's possible to make a fix/mod that will indicate in combat log what Spell Protections/Combat Protections specifically are removed from enemy when he/she is hit with Spell removals/Breach/Dispel (just like in case with Spell Shield).
