I cannot for the life of me find an Ogre Alpha in the Descent DLC.

 

Either that, or I've managed to kill one, not noticed, and the "Giant Slayer" achievement didn't fire.

 

Is it possible to miss this guy? Can anyone put me in the right direction? (Or point it out on the map, because I spent way too much time already looking for all the gears... )

I want to say that the Ogre Alpha is the first thing you fight in the DLC? So it's possible that either I'm wrong or the achievement didn't trigger.

edit: Just checked a playthrough video and the Ogre Alpha is the one you fight at the very beginning.

Seems like the achievement is bugged, according to you and other sources. Sorry

 

Am I the only one who thought the achievements were kind of underwhelming? 3/4 of them are mandatory if you finish the DLC, and the other is almost mandatory. I'm fine with getting some achievements for just beating a game, but not if they're the only ones.

Not only the achievement is bugged. I ran in to a glitch where the ogre disappears when I get it down to half health. I reloaded my last save twice, fought him again, same issue. The health bar gets stuck to the screen, the ogre is never killed and the achievement is never received.

Ouch. I had a different Ogre fall through the floor and I had to restart a mandatory, long fight.

So it's bugged. That clears it up, thanks. I think I'm more surprised by my not remembering an Ogre fight than the achievement not triggering though, lol.

I had this issue too...turns out, for me, it had disappeared up to a ledge above me! Thankfully, it was within reach of my mage, but it took 8 million years to finish off by myself. 

 

So...if this happens to anyone else, try looking up and seeing if it's there.

I had no problems in killing the first Ogre and getting the achievement. o.o

 

I play on PC. (if that's important)

I've seen some mentions of trophies not triggering on Xbox one.  They all worked fine on ps4 for me though.  Good luck.
