I started the DLC at level 26 with around 80,000 gold & finished the DLC with 470,000 gold. I was just wondering if everyone else was getting this amount of gold or if I encountered a bug.

Merchant from the DLC buys all stuff at crazy prices.

So... Everyone's getting that much gold.

Only that merchant too, if you sell the gear dropped in the DLC at a different merchant it's back to very low prices. Sell your stuff at the guy who pays premium for it!

I think what's happening is that merchant buys items at the same price items sell at.

Lol, started dlc at 113K, ended at almost 700K  ^_^ And that's without selling ANY of the uniques

I hope they don't patch that because the gold was really hard to come  by in the main game.

But there's a mug of ale in each one of your hands, right Ash?

Don't worry, I won't tell 'em.

I made at least 600,000 Gold in this DLC. I have a huge stockpile of uniques at skyhold and I think I'll be able to go over the million mark if I bothered.

I think what's happening is that merchant buys items at the same price items sell at.

That seems accurate. What's worth noting though, is that buying things from that merchant (who only sells materials) is also more expensive, so you're better off going to the Emporium to buy materials.

I hope they don't patch that because the gold was really hard to come  by in the main game.

I don't think it's a bug, to be honest. It seems intentional. The DLCs are slowly letting us do what we want, like the BE adding schematics. Now we need rune materials...

I thought the amount of the additonal coin was huge and it made me think if we might not need it for other dlc....but it could just be to off set the lack of coin prior to this dlc.  i was starting to think my inquisitor was going to need a second job to buy anything at the emporium.  but if you start playing this dlc as soon as you can, and not at 27th level but as soon as you reach skyhold and slowly nurse it along, that money could be easily spent by the time you reach 27 and finish the dlc.

I think it offsets the ridiculous prices of some of the merchandise. I am glad to see they did this, it is a nice way to add some balance, so kudos to them. Hopefully, they won't remove it for some reason.

Now, Bioware... Let's discuss those Fade-Touched materials.....

Yes, my Inquisitor got a ton of gold. I bought up all the dragon materials and crafted gear for my party members. I had images of Lavellan rolling around in gold coins. It was glorious.

Yes, and it is GLORIOUS!  Now I can go shopping at the Black Emporium or buy mats instead of farming.

I've finally played myself, and I gotta say - I'm glad I got my 50,000 Gold achievement in a single playthrough... BEFORE even JoH was a thing. No guilt about the achievement that way.

There is a lot of gold. I think it stems from the dungeon crawl atmosphere, since vendor trash would be burdensome.

I ain't complaining, but no, it's not a bug.

I thought it was a bug at first. Perhaps it is, and bioware will fix it in a patch. Until then, sell sell sell! Get rich! I want you to solve all your problems by getting rich!!!

For me, this is one of the greatest benefits of this dlc and it is about time too. Some of the purchasable schematics, weapons, etc in Black Emporium alone was never going to be achievable without some help on gold stockpiling. The Descent gold bounty is much appreciated!!

It's also funny how much gold the Sha-Brytol carry around given that they probably don't have a coin based economy like topside.

I'm still disappointed that the materials you can gather while in the Fade aren't Fade-touched. How can stuff collected while physically in the Fade not be? It's not even like you can go back and farm it so wouldn't skew difficulty that much.
