I have some hope for DA4. Not only because Bioware will be more familiar with the Frostbite engine and they will drop old gen consoles (which were one of the main reasons why DAI was so limited and why a lot of stuff was cut), but also because they said in a recent post they were taking feedback into consideration should they make DA4. One the biggest complaints about DAI was the huge worlds filled with fetch quests and one of the main requests was more story and more companion dialogue, so I believe they will at least try to improve that on the next game. We'll see.
Thanks.
Sorry, don't want to make a ungrateful impression, but:
You know I'm female and I have some trouble sometimes to play a man (in "Whitcher" is it a man, who likes to have sex with a lot of women with big boobs). I would always prefer playing a female character.
So I'm happy that in Bioware games I have this option.
And the world of "Witcher" is somehow so .... depresive and sad. My "daily grind" is hard and when I'm sitting on my pc and playing I want something nice, dangerous ok, but please not as sad and depresive like the daily news in television.
I'm also a female and, when given the chance, I always play as a female too (I never played DAO, DA2 or DAI as a male) and it took me quite a while to give The Witcher a chance because I also didn't like the idea of playing as a white-haired dude. But at the end of the day, what matters the most to me is the story and the characters so I decided to give it a chance and it was the best decision I ever made. I'm currently on my third playthrough and I plan on doing more in the future because for one, the world, the quests, the characters, are amazing and also, even though you have a set protagonist, The Witcher 3 has great replay value thanks to its quests with multiple choices and consequences. You can go through the entire game without one single sex scene. Just like DA, you can choose to romance someone (in TW3 you have 2 choices) and you also have the brothels (like DAO and DA2) but it's your choice if you want to go there or not. So I wouldn't worry about seeing boobs against your will.
And you should know, yes, there is some dark stuff in TW3 but there are some good moments too. Those that will warm your heart. It's not always downs, there are a lot of ups. There's even one particular scene that made me laugh so hard, I was literally crying and my sister had to check up on me to see if I was ok.
You should really give it a chance. Geralt is a great character and he will grow on you. But well, if you're one of those people who value appearance above everything else (story, characters, world, etc.) then I'm not sure if you will enjoy it if you can't get past that. Which is fine, each to their own, but you're missing out on a great RPG. Apart from the set character, I think TW3 is more close to DAO than DAI is.
