Does anybody know what type of energy comes from the stone Guardian's wave attack? I figured it was spirit, but it could also be electrical. If it is one of those then the right tonic, accessories, and upgrades should help.

Come on, guys! Don't tell me nobody's wondered what those energy blasts are. Bioware must have given us the option of building resistance against it.

I'm honestly not sure, sorry. Maybe you could see what colour the text above your head is when it hits?

I don't get that type of feedback on my play. Doesn't anybody know?

Okay. The energy and lyrium attacks just appear to be physical attacks. Spirit defense doesn't work so the color isn't yellow, nor does fire resistance work so the color isn't orange.

So my only strategy is to built up my characters from level 26 to above 27. So having those spawning droves of Sha-Brytol at the 2nd last level have a use for something. I guess I'll be sending my nights just doing that until I can withstand the Guardian's attacks better. My companions can't evade fast enough so buffing them is the only option.

Unfortunately, 27 is the maximum level, and the DLC scales with you, so the Guardian will also level-up with you :? My advice would simply be to make the absolute best gear you can for the most effective party you have. I found having 2 mages for barrier, one archer and one tanky warrior worked well on Nightmare. Oh, and kill the Rock flails first. Hope you beat it!

This boss was so ridiculously easy. I soloed it on nightmare at level 19 as a mage. Just keep barrier up and nuke it. Basics 101. Reposition a bit every once in a while. It's like the most simple strategy of killing a boss ever it never threw any unexpected curve ball moves at me to make it in any way challenging. The ranged units bit their gazillion damage bolts are more challenging.

I don't have the Spoils DLCs or the Jaws of Hakkon. So most of my gear doesn't go beyond level 20 or what's available from the Descent DLC.

It's difficult to keep track of my party when a giant rock is in the center blocking my view.

Just for fun I just used ai to beat it. I had Cole go into stealth while my inquisiror mage after using a lyrium potion dispatched it in 3 minutes while being controlled by the computer. This is on nightmare btw.

Edit : I do use very good crafted gear though like my lyrium enhanced staff has a 84 damage base.
