What if we had a Yahg companion?

I've yet to see anyone ask, but I'm curious if we might have a Yahg as a teammate. Unless it's already been shot out of the sky. We know little about them. So a companion Yahg, could open up new lore options etc. Maybe they're originally from Andromeda, and not Parnack.

Thoughts?

Not going to happen. They're too big.

Perhaps a "Grunt" version Yahg? Smaller than your average Yahg?

Id rather see a Raloi in some form honestly.

I mean, why not at this point?

Between Grunt and Cole, I've lead enough child soldiers into combat in Bioware games.

Raloi would seem more logical.  In fact, I hope we get to see them in ME:A

I was considering it yesterday.  But I think it would be nice to see them.  Didn't the Asari make first contact with them during the events of ME3?

Hm... another suit wearing race, but avian in appearance. Interesting, sounds like a Turian/Quarian offspring.

Btw Jamaican, they did.

I believe first contact was made prior to ME2, and during the course of ME3 they declared "Not my problem!", all went back to their homeworld and promptly destroyed all their advanced tech in the hopes that the Reapers would pass them by.

Yahg could be cool, but if they're as strong as Shadow Broker, then damn, they'd be some OP companion.

As for Raloi, that'd also be interesting.

I thought this was the first I was hearing about them, but apparently not, I had their wiki page all purple, apparently I visited it before. Kinda shame they "introduced" a species without ever introducing them.

It does give the world a bit more flavor though. Not to mention possible set-up bait for later games or series.

True. would have at least liked a picture in a Councilor's room or something, since they only came in like one year before the Reapers were all "lolhi"

But given that it was only one year, I can forgive it.

don't see why that would be a problem. They need to start thinking outside the box when it comes to squadmates anyway.

People have been asking for them since ME3.

Raloi would seem more logical.

Or, you know, giving us an individual from an established species we haven't had the chance to squad up with yet.

I honestly prefer the krogan.

They have more of a sense of honor, than blindly killing like the yahg tend to do for simply looking at them wrong.

You don't see the obvious problems that having a companion that big would have when it comes to level design and cut-scene blocking?

And I don't think there really has been an outcry for a yahg companion. At least I haven't seen it. I've seen people ask for batarian companions, vorcha companions, volus companions, but I haven't seen anyone ask for a yahg. Not saying it hasn't happened; just that I haven't seen it.

And the raloi qualify for that description, too. Raloi were established before the yahg were. Granted, I don't think either would make for a good squadmate, but still.

Would not work, remember the Yahg have to think you are that much powerful than them or they will actively attempt to kill you and take your place.

Eh, they could figure out a way to incorporate a yahg that doesn't fit the standard mold for the species, or otherwise have it's recruitment mission be about us establishing dominance.

Man, that always sounds dirty.

Still, just based on the technical issues that would come with having a character that big on the team, I'd rather they didn't do it.

Honestly, yahg are one of the few Milky Way races that I'm perfectly fine with not being in Andromeda at all.

The Krogans might have violent tendencies, but the ones I've known seem a lot less likely to try to kill me than a Yahg.

What happened to the previous Shadow Broker that decided to groom a Yahg, He had the time ,  resources, intelligence and it availed him ought.

Yeah, but we'd have something he didn't. The power of being a Bioware protagonist.

Still opposed to the idea, though.

Nope. Don't see a problem at all considering the level design is bound to be much more expansive this time around. Seeing as how we already fought one in a rather narrow space, they're entirely capable of having one tag along on a mission with us.

I never said there was an outcry for anything. I quoted LinksOcarina who was speaking of the Raloi (that overhyped avian species of cowards). And yes, many people have been wanting to see one since they were merely mentioned during ME3. There's also those out there that have asked for Yahg in the next game, though I wasn't speaking about them or the Yahg.

No, merely mentioning them is not my definition of established. As in a species that has actual history within the MEU. One that actually has a face. Like the Batarians.
