Seriously. What if he stumbled across the secret that fuels the entire trip to Andromeda? That would be hilarious and could possibly make for a semi descent explanation. These beings were real and their way of protecting organic life was to send them to other galaxies. Food for thought I guess.

Did the codex about those things say something about intergalactic travel?

Nope but who knows how the writers will get us to Andromeda. A plausible theory but mostly an amusing thought that just popped into my head.

I have to admit, I have no idea what you're talking about.

Huh, I totally forgot about that little entry. What if these beings are indeed the "Remnant". I remember when I first read that entry I thought "huh that must be important" but it never went anywhere... yet...

While I can see potential in that plot thread, I'd be fine if it went no where.

I mean, even in a world where there really are evil machines come from the void to kill us, some of the crazy people should still just be crazy.

Remember when the Virtual Aliens and the Raloi never became a thing?

That sucked. :(

Well, maybe the Virtual Aliens and Raloi will show up in this or future games. After all, the Virtual Aliens are probably one of the top species to go to when it comes to anything involving ships. They're up there with the Quarians and the Geth.

I don't think the Remnant were ever in the Milky Way... that would be the Prothean story again: We find the technology of an advanced civilisation and follow into their footsteps. It feels lazy.

There were many things in the ME trilogy that never lead to anything. Some things were kind of retconned, like the reason the Rachni went to war. In ME1 it is implied it was the Reapers... but the timing was off by a few thousand years, so in ME3 it is implied it was the Leviathans instead.

The Dark Energy plot that seemed so important in ME2? Never spoken of again... despite the fact that the mass effect technology and the Crucible are based on it.

The statues on Ilos were supposed to show what Protheans looked like... by ME3 that was changed to "Protheans settled this world which used to belong to a species that came before them and the statues are what's left of them".

There are more examples and some could be used to explain how we get to Andromeda... but I'd rather don't see them mentioned again. Just let it rest and start fresh, without retroactively changing even more of the ME trilogy.

Alternatively he stumbled on a prothean beacon and the "beings of light" were just prothean V.I.'s.

This.

Good find.

I would prefer this over the damm Asari.

After all, they have been hoarding and keeping shiz to themselves for centuries.
