WHY USE THIS MOD?

Because you either don't like spending time running in slow motion to chase the kid and/or you don't want to see the kid at all in the dreams or basically as little as possible.

WHAT THIS MOD DOES

It cuts to the last scene of the dream sequence making it much shorter and getting to the point. Both versions of the dreams allow you "skip the kid" while he's hiding in the vent.

A LITTLE SPOILER STUFF

If you use MEHEM or JAM version B, this mod may make the game make more sense. Also, if you watch dream 2 of the "Shorter Dreams"  no kid example, it makes more sense with the paragon responses after the dream when Shepard talks about missing Kaidan or Ashley despite only seeing the kid in the original dream. I would even argue dream 1 makes more sense since that dream is also so focused on the kid but the responses have nothing to do with him there either.

The mod is brilliant. I installed the version which lets me skip the vent conversation and removes the kid from the dreams.

I hated that Bioware tried to make this kid so important to Shepard without ever giving us a reason why. It was especially irksome that Shepard would spend so much time dreaming about this kid but didn't give a damn about Mindoir and would a Ruthless background Shepard really give a damn.

A rant I know. Now thankfully with this and John P's Alternate Mass Effect Happy Ending Mod (version B), I can bid the forced care goodbye.

@voteDC

Thanks for the vote of approval. I kind of get what they were doing. I still think for a player new to the series they could have shown what happened to the person who didn't make it on Virmire and used that as a base, or as AVPen suggested, if you have an LI make a dream or 2 about them, but it's easier to show this concept with a child and everyone can relate to it.

However, a lot of the dialogue after the dreams didn't match up with the visuals or even sometimes the audio (I'm looking at you dream 2 with your PMCheckStates and random array gate stuff so you may never hear Ash or Kaidan speak.) Plus, I just didn't like running in slow motion. ;)

Well, I'll probably update this mod. This came about when doing research for ME2 actually but I realized I should check some other files and sure enough, there are some conditionals where Shepard will talk about more than Ash or Kaidan. I think most people would get the Ash or Kaidan response after dream 2 but it's possible to have Jack, Garrus, Tali, Miranda, Jacob...I think a few others.

Anyway, I may adjust the dialogue so it matches the audio and the conversation with Liara always routes to Ash or Kaidan. I may not too. We'll see. But my OCD history with mods would indicate that I will do something.

EDIT: Well, considering you can talk about Jack but she isn't one of the voices during the dream, I'm leaving it with Ash or Kaidan for the voice and probably not worrying about re-routing anything. For most players, the Kaidan/Ash response will be the one they see.

Too bad this doesn't work in the console version.
