Who do you take with you and who do you always leave behind ?

 

For me it's usually: Cassandra-Solas-Iron Bull

 

and I never bring : Sera, Cole & Blackwall with me.

Usually three from Sera - Cassandra - Dorian - Cole (depending on my class).

 

Rarely Blackwall - Solas - Varric

My A-Team for story missions and banter is Cole, Cassandra, Solas. Cass is superfluous mechanically since my Inquisitor is the tank, but as a sister-in-arms-and-spirit she is irreplacable. Cole is my new all-time favourite Bioware character for his raw kindness, sincerity and unique perspecive and perceptions. Solas is the most "valuable" of the mages given his knowledge of the Fade and its denizens as well as his help with the Anchor. They get along beautifully after a bit of initial suspicion from Cassandra towards Cole, and really make me feel like I'm with a group of trusted friends.

 

My Team Pretend They Don't Exist is Vivienne, Sera, Iron Bull.

I have a different core team for each run. So far it's been Blackwall/Dorian/Varric, Cassandra/Dorian/Sera, Iron Bull/Vivienne/Varric and Blackwall/Solas/Cole. I love all the Inquisition companions, though, so I swap things around a lot to hear more banter.

I tend to rate my companions into A, B, and C teams.  A teams being their preffered companions.  B teams being their non preffered companions but one A team member, and C teams being a team made up of only non A team members.  

 

Ben 1 A team.  Solas/ Blackwall, Cassandra, Varric.  But then eventually Blackwall was kicked out for Dorian.  

 

Kara A team.  Sera/Cassandra, Dorian, Iron Bull...but eventually Iron Bull kind of went into limbo.  

 

Ben 2 A team.  Solas/ Dorian, Cassandra, Varric

Iron Bull (my romance for my elven male mage quizzy over here, Iron Bae as I nickname him), Sera, and Dorian. 

 

Although I usually switch out Sera for Varric and I end up having a racial representation with one of every race lol. I'm planning on doing a playthrough with just Varric instead of Sera however since I'm getting sliightly tired of her. Although she's easily a better archer than Varric since it's easier to upgrade her weapons as opposed to upgrading Bianca. 

 

Almost Never use: Cole, Blackwall and Vivienne.

Sera is always at my side. Usually Dorian too.  

Vivi and Schmolas can stay in Skyhold.

I never bring Blackwall, Cole, Solas.

 

Bull, Viv and Varric get brought along situationally and swapped out depending on missions and if I want interesting banter interactions.

 

Well, to be fair, I will bring Cole Blackwall and Solas super occasionally.  I have to force myself sometimes to use them.

Yeah. Cass, Dorian and Sera are my mainstays, but I do rotate all the others in from time to time.

I couldn't do without Sera's Thousand Cuts though. Just too useful against bosses.

I rotate Doria, Sera, and Bull in occasionally

I almost never use Blackwall, Varric, and Viv

I like all three of them, I just like the other companions more

Against dragons: Vivienne, Sera/Blackwall, Dorian

Planned future elf Mage: Solas, Iron Bull, Sera

Personal favourites: Cassandra, Dorian, Cole

There are characters that I like less or more, but it almost never influences my party member. Except for Varric. I love having Varric in my party. Though even in his case I switch him for someone else, from time to time. So everyone get their screen time.

For me it is always Dorian, Cole, and Cassandra, everyone else I leave behind. I always just remake the same character repeatedly, and so I always have two rogues by bringing Cole. I was so proud of Cole when we took down our first dragon together. Two assassination rogues can hit quite hard, as I have discovered.

Well A I like to ahve one of each anyways at all times.  And 2. Ben never invested in the Spirit tree.

My faves which mostly get exchanged between each other: Cassandra, Cole, Dorian, Solas, Varric

 

Charas I only take with me, if I want to improve their approval: Bull, Sera, Vivienne

 

Blackwall is a special case, I like him more than Bull, Sera and Viv, but less than my faves, so I mostly take him for his Companion Quests and when I want to hear new banter.

And i don't play with the others lol  cuz i don't like them.

Go-to group is Blackwall, Solas, and Sera. I've started a Vivienne/Cassandra/Varric group, but never finished. If I ever get around to it and can tear myself away from Solas, I'd like to try an Iron Bull/Sera/Dorian.

As a mage I take Blackwall, Cole and either Solas or Dorian.

As an archer I take Blackwall, Iron Bull and either Solas or Dorian.

I switch mostly between Sera, Dorian, Solas, and Varric. Occasionally will throw in Cole, Cassandra, Blackwall, or Bull to switch it up or for banter. Never bring Vivienne.

Depends on the situation but my favorite team was my canon play of Mage Inquisitor, Dorian, Cole, and Cassandra.

The all Fem team is really good as well.

Varric I've taken with me few times ...well his quest and maybe whenever I think he might have some kind of influence .. but nah I'm not a fan of Bianca. It slows him down soooo much. I took him with me to the deep roads - oh boy - thank god for camps and being able to change party.

 

I'll bring sera she's a rogue like me after all could be a good change. I've tried dumping Solas for Dorian lately but Cassandra she's always in my party.

I don't really have a set team, but rather bring the people who make the most logical sense on a mission by mission basis.
