Well, for the moment we don't know if it will be connected to the story of the previous games or not since we don't know when we are leaving for Andromeda. And for all we know the Mass Relays are in Andromeda. So while familiar faces and familiar locations are out there is still some hope left for what you listed.

First of all i know your tricks pricing the game to be sure that people will buy it you say something stupid and every game site post it as a news no demo nothing from the things i have read and saw i don't think this game have to be called Mass Effect if not gonna have nothing from Mass Effect characters or some locations from the Mass Effect like Citadel or relays then it's not Mass Effect game if you had admited your mistake and if you had fix your mistake with the ending you was going to have chance for more games but now you don't if you want to show to the people this is really Mass Effect game why don't you show some gameplay instead to talking empty words ha ??

First: Bioware can't "show some gameplay" because they are still deep in the process of making it.

Second: You should really wait until an actual trailer is released that tells us some of the MEA story before saying it has nothing to do with the ME trilogy. "Mass Effect" is a scientific phenomenon that involves more than just the relays, so if it's in the game, then of course Andromeda will be called Mass Effect.

I believe it's been stated that Andromeda will take place in the future, past Shepard's time. I'm about... 80ish% certain.

But then you have this.

Truthfully, I doubt we shall see familiar faces.

Mass Effect it's not only one Mako lol

It's also not only about Shep & Co.

BW has the final say as to how ME:A is a ME game.  Why?  Because they made the series.  We fans have no real say in what makes ME 'ME', so we just have to deal with whatever BW decides.  Don't like it?  Don't get any more ME games.  Simple.

True, but even if the Relays aren't present (which remains to be seen) everything else is built off of Mass Effect technology so technically the title Mass Effect is still perfectly relevant.

It's called a ''full stop'', and is often refered to as ''period''. It looks lik a dot... That were three of them in rapid succesion. There are also commas, and they look like a miniature ''9''. , That was an enlarged comma.

I see the concern but....

Mass Effect isn't just about Shepherd and Co.

Things that define "Mass Effect" like the actual effect, eezo, races, technology are all gonna be there as far as we know.

We know there is Krogan, and likely Asari ,Quarians etc. As well as the Mako, the N7 program, so on so forth...

Mass Effect is a brand....the first trilogy was about Shepherd. It's presumed this series (one game or more) will be about the Pathfinder and their journey to/ exploration of Andromeda.

Their going to be using lots of elements (or so it seems) from the previous games as far as races, how they build the universe etc.

The first trilogy was like a "series" and this is the next "series" in the catalogue of Mass Effect games....

I just don't buy into the notion that Mass Effect's whole vibe was centered around Shep n Co. While I was as heartbroke as any that Shep's gone, she ain't coming back and this series is gonna have some old concepts remastered and redone, and some brand new.

To me that doesn't make it less "Mass Effect".

>implying Mass Effect is only about Shepard and her team.

I have news for you: Mass Effect has many, many stories. The first trilogy had Shepard's story. Now it's time for another new story, new protagonist, new places and new squadmates.

N7 program?

ME1/2/3 Races?

Mako?

Elements such as eezo etc?

Mass Effect fields?

Biotics?

I think it'll have plenty of "Mass Effectian" things in it.

Yet you brought up the fact that we likely won't see familiar faces, as if that somehow makes ME:A less like ME.

As it has been said, we don't know much about ME:A atm, though there are many things that were included in ME1-3 that'll likely be put into ME:A (mass effect cores, weapons, biotics, eezo, Mako (although, with a revamped look), N7, etc.).  BW stated that they'll release more info on N7 Day (Nov. 7th), so we'll have to wait until then.

How the hell is having Asari, turians, salarians, krogans, etc NOT seeing "familiar faces"? Sure, split hairs and call them "familiar races", but the point is that everyone will feel a familiarity.

And if anyone thought they would see Liara or Wrex or anyone else...I mean, seriously...did anyone seriously think that was going to happen? I'm sorry, it just strikes me as a little naive.

tbf, when people say 'familiar faces', they usually mean people they recognize.  Saying that we'd still see familiar faces just because the same races are still around doesn't exactly make sense.

Still, you have a point about people still feeling familiarity due to the existing races still being around.

We don't even know who the protagonist is yet. The guy in the trailer isn't, according to Bioware. So, I'm assuming, since they made 2 models, we're going to have 2 N7 members in the crew (human) who are also probably squadmates. I have no idea why they wouldn't focus on the main character, who isn't supposed to be alien, also as far as Bioware have said, unless that's supposed to be some big reveal. Or they simply haven't decided on the design.

Basically, it's just way too soon to do anything but speculate and have patience.

It does, but unless we get there instantaneously somehow it would be a long trip, meaning we could leave before the Shepard Trilogy but still get there long after. That's why when we leave is up in the air.

I know. I said familiar faces were out.

Okay, I'll attempt at translating the OP's post to basic proper English. I have to admit that English is not my first language, so I might make some mistakes. Bear with me.

"Dear BioWare,

you recently announced Mass Effect: Andromeda with a spectacular trailer that really caught people's attention. Sadly, the trailer we were shown at the E3 did not really show us anything substantial. Your commentary on the ME:A announcement was really nothing more than a lot of hot air. Yet videogame news outlets all over the internet report on the ME:A announcement as if we are dealing with something newsworthy. In my opinion, we have not seen anything newsworthy at all. No gameplay demo or anything substantial that would convince me that ME:A is really going to be a next-gen Mass Effect game.

In fact, from what I have heard so far with regards to ME:A I actually have serious doubts whether we are dealing with a true new Mass Effect game here. ME:A is not going to have any of the familiar characters that we got to know and love over the course of the trilogy, nor any of the breath-taking locations from the first trilogy, like for example the Citadel. We are probably not going to see mass relays in ME:A either.

If this is indeed the case, then I do not think ME:A deserves to be called a true Mass Effect game. I have to wonder if the reason you are completely moving away from the original trilogy has anything to do with the atrocious endings of Mass Effect 3. If that is indeed the case then that is really saddening. If you would just have recognized the mistakes you made with the ME3 endings and actually fixed these mistakes, then maybe we could have seen more games set in the Milky Way, the setting that we are familiar with and grown fond of over the past couple of years.

BioWare, if you want to convince me and other people that Mass Effect: Andromeda is truly going to be a real Mass Effect game then please, show us some gameplay footage instead of pre-rendered teasers and empty words.

I look forward to your reply.

Yours faithfully,

John_Shepard."

Still, you have a point about people still feeling familiarity due to the existing races still being around.

When you are living in a galaxy of trillions, in which humanity is a minority, among strange alien species... yes a human face would be a familiar face.

The devs obviously used the phrase to mean that they wouldn't be abandoning species of the MW in favor of all new Andromedan species. Honestly, I really dont see how anyone could have interpreted it otherwise when we know that they are probably doing this to tuck tail and run as far away from ME3 as possible.
