The buffs to dots and nerfs to upfront damage are just nerfs because dots don't stack.

Burning damage dots don't stack

Walking bomb dots dosn't stack with itself

Walking bomb and Fire Mine changes are just terrible nerfs. I hate them. On paper they look like they're OK, but in practice its just a nerf since there's likely to be already burning / dot damage from other sources.

Walking bomb not stacking is only an issue if you have more than one necro on the team, which 99% of the time is not the case so not a big deal really. Burning DoTs need fixing though, for sure.

I think it's more offensive that Walking Bomb does not chain infinitely and that you can't make multiple Spirit Mark pets. Anti-fun design.

I've had 3 at a time actually :D If you hit another enemy with spirit mark before the first target you hit dies, they can both reanimate, and the first one is the only one with a duration, the second one goes until it gets killed. It's possible to get 3 for a short time with simulacrum.

I think he was referring to the venatorii fire mine DoTs.

Is that an bug thing or a lag thing?

Bug methinks. You just have to take all the cooldown decreasing passives. It's the way spirit mark works, if you finish your cooldown before the duration of the first cast runs out, you can cast it again.

Its a bug. Happens with Mages, Spellbinders, Deepstalkers, Corpse Archers, Fire Wraiths and other DoT enemies. Been around since launch, will probably never be fixed because working as intended or metrics or something.

I would kill for the ability to spam 3x mines at once, AND for them to stack on the enemy.

Wasn't there a new accessory property made - during that fan-made item creation event - that would allow players to drop three lightning mines?

Yes, there was:

"Enhanced Basic Attacks: The end of your attack chain now drops 3 Electric glyphs in an area around you."

The explosion bit of the Walking Bomb was reduced from 800% to 650% damage, while the DoT was buffed to 150% per tick from 100%, I think.

And after patch 9 the DoT can crit, which helps a little.

Not sure about the Fire Mine (something similar to the Walking Bomb adjustment), but it is probably more harmful since there are so many characters with weak Burning overwriting the Elementalist's.

No, from the spellbinder. I'm counting 8 damage ticks at once.

No. With her passives and the way I build her I can often cast walking bomb back to back and in 6-7 second intervals in between those casts so I am missing on potentially a lot more damage.

Based on the numbers you gave, after 3 ticks you do more damage to your main target after the change. The explosion was a bit OP so they nerfed it down a bit but hardly terrible at 650% damage.

Its really  bad. Power chord does much much better, and even cool beats is a better investment because it stacks via different targets.

Fire mine's burst damage used to be the selling point of fire mine. Its still kinda ok, but terrible since it is still back loaded damage even though it is 'front loaded' firemine because there's a delay before the mine activates.

OP is the last thing that comes to mind when someone mentions a necromancer, tbh.

Overall true.  They are lacking in single target damage outside of walking bomb which just had the single target damage part buffed at the expense of aoe which they have elsewhere. Albeit mostly dots for aoe which are crap for the most part and eclipsed by the much better CC firestorm which can be used with 0 CD by those paying attention.  Would really like to see blizzard bumped up with more damage per tick or freeze faster but would much rather see Horror get like 200% front loaded damage on top of the dots.

Yeah I wish I could do that too.

To be fair, the SS had it coming. There were plenty of tells that the spellbinder was going to cast fire mine, plus a delay before FM activates. The player didn't move at all through all of that until far too late. They tossed TB then initiated HB instead of running away. Really should've charged through the spellbinder, then turn around, observing the binder, then HB if its safe instead of TB being tossed everywhere and not killing anything.

Also, she stole his bubblegum-- the expensive nicotine type too! -- so he was all out of bubblegum.

It was definitely the SS's fault all around.

I cant see what your talking about my necro is godly now, while before it just feel short of a limp noodle....  I feel like many of the abilities it gets better with scale and if your not at the proper stats it can seem like trash, my example... spirit blade

sorry buddy I'll have to disagree with you :P maybe we can test this out though I'll be streaming tonight
