In Haven, I flirted with both Cullen and Blackwall. I'd always planned to pursue Blackwall but I accidentally the whole Cullen. I romanced Cullen in my first playthrough so I broke up with him this time around and tried to get with Blackwall instead. When I talked to him (first time talking to him in Skyhold, before he goes to the barn) and I flirted with him, he said something like "perhaps those sentiments are best expressed somewhere else." If you're romancing Cullen, he talks about Cullen here(accidentally tried this before breaking up with Cullen and then reloaded a save) but from videos it seems he should say something else. Did I screw up?

Did you flirt with anyone else? Did you kiss Solas in the Fade? If he's refusing you in that very first scene in Skyhold, you must have activated some other romance and not properly closed it off.
Is it too late for you to roll back before you activate Cullen's romance at all?

I don't think I flirted with anyone else, just those two. I know that I didn't kiss anybody, and she is a human so Solas wouldn't go for her. I'll check if I have a save before the kiss scene with Cullen.
Edit: No saves from before Cullen, apparently. Is it possible I just didn't flirt with Blackwall enough back in Haven? Or maybe I've done things he disapproves of...though I think the option to flirt wouldn't even be there in that case. <.>

So I found out that mages get special dialogue options during their romance with Cullen, and this character is a mage. Didn't notice it before, but I am just barely into the romance so I think I'm just going to keep at it and romance the grumpy old warden on another character. Thanks for trying to help, though!
