Okay dunno if it belongs here but I have like a few tilesets and a few erfs I added to this module and now the appearance or just the items have simply disappeared on me!!

I managed to get it back be reinstalling the haks but is there something that can prevent this from happening like constantly?

Double check your 2da's. My guess is that one of the topmost haks have an overriding 2da. I find it best to take all the 2da's and make a top hak just for those. so you can easily find and edit them as needed.

If that doesn't work, let us know exactly what the problem is.

What is disappearing? Textures? Palette entries? Models? Instances?

it is the textures, I was building some more on my module and I have a car Hak that gives me car placeables to place around in my module but suddenly the cars had turned into rainbows and bath-tubs...

Rainbows and bathtub textures, or rainbow and bathtub appearances?

If textures then you may have come across the rare, but wholly possible situation where two or more textures are named the same way.

However it sounds like your appearances are changing. Look in your new haks for the 'placeables.2da' file. Best guess is that you have one overriding your original in a higher hak. Take both 2da files, merge them together, and then place the new 2da file you make on a top hak. I also suggest removing the superfluous placeables.2da files from your other haks as well. That way there isn't confusion in the future.

When textures start to turn into "rainbows" in the toolset, its often an indication that the module hasn't been saved often enough while working on it. its technically an issue with graphics cards, but is initiated by having to "remember" too many -back steps- by your CPU, especially on older computers, but not limited to them. Saving after it happens rarely helps. Save often. Personally, I save after every 2 to 3 dozen "things"*.

*Things = pasting something to an area, opening area or other object  properties, drawing triggers and placing tiles.

Well dont think it was an issue with my graphic card since since it completely forgot the items I had placed and changed it into something else.

Had to re-assign all the textures of the models.

No longer have that issue though.
