I wonder if you have upgraded your armor to the highest tier and added some good legs and arms to it. Ranged def in the arms/legs helps a lot, just like the higher armor value.
And try to get ranged attackers asap. Let the melee focus on the melee.

What are your promotions like? Hunter and Archer are two of the squishiest classes in the game and need those defensive stats from promotes (and also the damage to get faster kills for heal on kill) to survive past Threatening.
They are around 35/28/28 or something. I just remember the Constitution was the highest because I was playing a lot of Katari/Templar back then.
I'm surprised no one has asked but what is actually killing you?
Anything ranged makes me go down fast. So not only enemy archers, but those Red Templars that shoot those spikes.
Also, I really hate the Lightning and Fire Dragons. In Perilous, I sometimes waste two downs just from getting smacked in the head with those fireballs and damage over time.
And thank you all for the suggestions. I actually have survived a full match of Perilous, finally, and did not go down (that was my goal, to see if it was possible). Although I notice that it makes a big difference if you have good warriors on your team, which I did.
Now my goal is to see if it's possible to have no warriors on Perilous, and have a mix of archers, mages and dagger rogues.
The build I used was Leaping Shot upgraded (a very commonly suggested ability that I should've used a long time ago), Stealth upgraded, Spike Trap upgraded and Explosive Shot upgraded.
There are many great suggestions of other builds here. I'll keep referring back to this thread and trying out some more. They've given me something to think about. I realize now that in Threatening, I was overconfident and using really bad habits like staying out in the open, or not even thinking much about saving my Stealth or other getaway move in case of emergency, which is what you really need to think about on Perilous. There's spamming w/ thinking, and spamming without thinking, and I was doing too much of the latter.
I also use rooms, doorways and pillars a lot more now, almost pretending I'm in a third-person shooter and using cover. To many this is painfully obvious already, but it's like a revelation to me. ![]()
Is Throwing Blades' upgrade fixed now? Does it actually work?
btw how much heal on kill do you have? For perilous and higher, heal on kill really can be the difference between lying on the floor all the time and having no problems at all.
Secondly, since you are ranged you have the option to take a better of your surroundings and thus avoiding those fire- and lightning balls. Again, kill ranged enemies (and the weakest of them) first. If you are low on health, pick the wounded ones (either hunter or archer or both have passives that do more damage against wounded npc's) first when you are low on health and boom, you got a bit of health back due to your heal on kill.
