I prefer the Avenger to any common other than the Mantis personally. Katana and Predator might be better but I enjoy using the Avenger more.

Oh, I didn't realize every bullet you have ever shot lands on the targets head. Quite the superpower you've got there.
It's not a superpower, though I can understand why the lesser races would think that.

So you have never used the combo being discussed here, but can expertly comment on it, sounds legit. Comparing the Avenger to Arc grenades? lol
Hint, the Avenger is not good for using at close range; the only redeeming feature is its relative accuracy, meaning you can stay farther away from enemies
'literally wipe mook spawns with single clips from an Avenger TGI in a few seconds' - show me this, since this is your claim.
'You can't do it, so therefore it is impossible. Got it.' - how did you come to this conclusion? I also can't make a 3 point shot in basketball, guess that's impossible too. As I have actually played the set up we are discussing, I can tell you that body shots with an Avenger vs Gold level enemies takes many bullets.
As far as defining 'OP' content, I consider any kit with Tactical Cloak, Biotic Charge, Grenades, Flamer, Hunter Mode, Devastator Mode, Annihilation Field, Ballistic Blades, and any kits capable of stringing together quick combo detonations as OP. If you start to add them up, that is a lot of content. Less weapons fall into this category, but it still encompasses about a quarter of the available selections.
What is being compared isn't really the point. Your standard for claiming that the setup is bad is that you can miss with it. Anything is bad when it doesn't actually hit the enemy. I don't have to use it to see that it has a TTK of less than a second on pretty much any gold mook (considering overload, it's actually something like .3 of a second to fire 3 bullets against most), and it can do it from a decent range, which isn't that bad and certainly isn't "shooting many many bullets into a single mook before he drops". That only happens if you consider a minimum of 3 or maximum of 9 bullets to be many, or are missing, which isn't shooting bullets into said mook at all.
I don't have video recording equipment. It is theoretically possible though, and seemingly not even all that difficult considering chain overload's extra damage and stun effects, the number of bullets to kill and he Avenger's 30-54 round capacity. Considering a mook spawn is usually 4-5 units, you can likely wipe them in a few seconds simply with bodyshots, since it will kill most non shielded mooks in 8-10 shots or less at 203 damage per shot, which it fires at a rate of nearly 9 per second, killing them in around a second in worst case scenarios. Of course this is pretty irrelevant, since getting fairly consistent headshots with an assault rifle on targets that are often stunned by a hitscan power isn't overly difficult.
I can tell you it doesn't, since I can do math. Actual number of bullets to kill and TTK calculation > "it takes too many because reasons". Further, you probably didn't read the part where I do use the Avenger on gold, often on kits with much less weapon damage than the TGI is capable of with it (read, ones that aren't the TGI). Why would my opinion change by using the weapon on a kit where it should be even more effective?
Your list of OP is ridiculous. Lots of those things are dependent upon having one of the offending few weapons or other help like grenade capacity gear (and really, stickies, HG's and Nightshade blades are OP)? Further, it would render the very build you are calling crap (TGI Avenger) as being OP solely by virtue of Tactical cloak. So is it OP or is it non-"viable", because it can't be both unless only things that are OP are "viable"?

@TaliSweat - Why are you trying to put words in my mouth? Show me where I said the TGI / Avenger is 'crap', or that I claimed the set up is bad because I can miss with it? I actually quite enjoy using it
I made an original claim that it takes many bullets from the Avenger to take down a Gold mook. You, from the perspective of someone who has never used this set up, claimed '4-6 headshots doesn't equal many'.
I responded with ' You must be an amazing shot then; I don't shoot well enough to land every shot on my targets head', your response was 'you can't do it so obviously it's impossible'.
Then in the same post you stated this "You don't need to land every shot on the head to kill things in a rather efficient fashion anyway, though theoretically if you could do that you could literally wipe mook spawns with single clips from an Avenger TGI in a few seconds" Newsflash - it takes a lot of bullets from an Avenger to kill a Gold level enemy
So show me. I want to see those elite aiming skills in practice. I also play on PS3, so we'll set a Gold Glacier game up and I'll help force spawns into the basement so you can attempt to back that claim up. I want to see you wipe mook spawns with single clips in a few seconds
As far as the OP argument, your response 'It's a handful of weapons and characters' - you didn't qualify that by saying, when not used in conjunction with different gears. I will stand by my list of OP stuff. Name any item I have listed and tell me why you think it isn't OP.
I'm done with this thread
EDIT: Apologies for the snark in my past few posts, I don't really care if you can or cannot effectively use the Avenger, and it is crap lol. I'm just cranky because I'm stuck in the office doing paperwork while all my coworkers are golfing and drinking beer right now.

Chill, the guy is simply saying it's deadly...on full auto...on a TGI...if you hit all headshots....that's all. Which is true....kinda...so...yeah...there's that.
I should go...

? In what way?
I told you that I've played the Avenger in all-BSNer games. (I've done it more than once.) You described that as "truly annoying". Since you made that judgement without knowing me, my BSN friends, or the circumstances under which the lobby came together, I find your judgement to be a little harsh, because based on a single bare fact.

We are having a failure to communicate. When I say it is annoying, I am referring to myself trying to kill stuff with sub-optimal weapons in a group of good players. I was NOT saying I am annoyed at other players who use sub-optimal weapons .. i really don't care what anyone uses. It's your game, play the content as you see fit.

^^ I will take the floor & the heat from Max for this one ... I HATE PUGS USING SUB_OPTIMAL EVERYTHING. I am tired of 30 minute gold games cuz they couldn't kill anything and I have to mop up their messes. Take your level 3 Shuriken's else where. I totally agree, nearly every character is "OP" in this game, maybe not the volus adept but I guess that's just personnal preference

-snip-
getting hot and bothered are we? I know a way to settle this question.
I'll have you know, I'm so 1337 I've never been outscored in pugs with my TGI-Avenger (i've never used that setup but it's still true)

and then the magic is gone. Whatever, I didn't really want to wipe spawns with my deadly full auto Avenger skills anyway, since I do it everyday.
