The reason for that was because in the previous cycles like with the Protheans only one race had been dominant and ruled over the other races. Then when the reapers attacked no one was working together "every race for themselves". Javik I think said that they could not adapt their tactic to beat the reapers.

In our cycle we have the advantage of many different races and the whole ME is about uniting the races to fight the reapers.

The Crucible to me seems to me like a deus ex machina. I mean it comes out of nowhere. It seemed to me that the writes in ME3 increased the reapers strength for the excuse to use Crucible device as the only thing to defeat them.

20000+ cycles and we were the only ones who tried to work together? Really? I seriously doubt it. That's a real stretch.

The reason things happened like they did in ME3 was that the writers had written themselves into a corner and there was no other way to handle the reaper threat without dealing them the idiot card in this cycle. In ALL of the other cycles they had taken over the Citadel and shut down the relay system. It was only in our cycle that they didn't. I guess it was because it had gotten boring going through an efficient routine harvest that Starbrat decided to spread things out and give our cycle a chance for sport.

It would have been a very short game if they'd taken over the Citadel.

Forgott about the whole shut down the relay system.

It could be that as i read somewhere that the Protheans that modified the keepers did more than just disable the command signal from Sovereign.

Maybe Sovereign was the only one that was able to shut down the relay system since he was always in charge of the cycle start. This ties in to that this cycle is the first one that have messed with the reapers plans so much.

Or that the writings wrote themselves into a corner with the whole "Shut down relay system" as you said.

I have my doubts we'll hear about this galaxy and Reapers much at all, probably not at all in the case of the latter.

However, if we are part of an 'Arc', then so be it. If it's well written, it can work. There's no reason to assume the people who make it to Andromeda would be the same generation as the ones who left the Milkyway: Andromeda is apparently not so close by. So actually, the old galaxy and the original immigrants could be somewhat legend.

The myth tells how The Shepard saved the old home, but there’s no going back.

Indeed and who's to asy the scene we get after the credits in ME3 with the Stargazer and child where the child and Stargazer were talking about the Shepard dosen't actually take place in Andromeda and that possibly that child is the protagonist for MEA
