There was a patch awhile back, that corrected some dupe bug, I think. But their answer was just to take the amulets away.
I haven't played in awhile though...maybe they came back.

No, they're not back.

It really does suck, doesn't it? I don't think I need to reiterate why their "fixing things" tactics are bad, but what I don't understand is why they didn't even leave one single AoP for the Inquisitor in the game. It makes everyone else out-level you, which is not what you want to happen with your main character.

Oh, I didn't even know it did that. I thought it just gimped other characters, like Cass in the Templar quest. But made some characters stronger, like Varric's war table amulet.

Its been how long? How ridiculous. Even disgraceful. I'm throwing out a lot of negative words but I really do mean it.

I don't like long standing issues. I can wait months, half a month, more than that, but at this point? No, something is wrong and I'll be vocal about it.
As a sidenote, I started a new game, Nightmare, PC, keyboard controls for the first time, and I'm not minding it as much as the first time I tried keyboard. But this AoP update took some wind out of the sails..

I don't blame you. I don't care myself though.. I have other problems with the game (the story actually). And you don't really need that many skills. The combat is just... kind of resorts to basics. But at the same time, I know how little things can be aggravating like this.
If you like everything else, I suggest just playing and trying to ignore it. ![]()

They really need to put them back. They didn't "fix" them, they broke them entirely. Why on Earth it has taken this many months to roll back a change that was obviously a mistake in the first place is mind-boggling.

I want the passives more than the actives.
I may try to play and ignore it, yeah.

Every character now has access to two amulets at most, except Dorian and Sera, who seem to only have access to one (if they've added amulets for either of them into the game somewhere, like they did for Bull, nobody has found them yet that I'm aware of).
Excepting Dorian (whose amulet is behind a plot so convoluted—that doesn't even have anything to do with him—it may as well not exist), you should always be guaranteed access to one of the amulets. It's not possible to get them all in a single playthrough, but you should still pick up a second one for several of the characters if you do a lot of the war table missions.
And if that's not enough for you, you can still dup any equipment in the game with the storage chest, including amulets of power.

They removed the amulets on purpose. I'm not sure how that constitutes as "disgraceful".
I thought they removed them because of some duping bug. And threw the baby out with the bathwater to fix the bug. And then left it at that. I think that's what people are calling disgraceful (just my guess). I don't really care, but removing features is an odd way to fix bugs.

More or less. You still get them from the occasional war table mission, but as far as I've noticed, there are none in the world anymore, meaning none for the Inquisitor at all.

Oh, I couldn't agree more. That's exactly how I feel about this, the Skyhold outfit, and a voice bug for the female Inquisitor that know one seems to know about. Considering tweeting them...

Yeah, that's what happened. The duping "bug" was simply that there were amulets as well as random items inside certain chests, so if you took the amulet and left an item the next time you loaded the map it would respawn. The obvious solution was to remove the random treasure from the box, leaving only the amulet and rendering the dupe impossible. Instead, the decided to... remove the amulet, so you can never get them? What?
It's either a mistake that they need to fix, or a terrible "solution" that they need to fix.

That precipitated the action, yes.I thought they removed them because of some duping bug. And threw the baby out with the bathwater to fix the bug. And then left it at that. I think that's what people are calling disgraceful (just my guess).
But I'm not sure why changing the amulets available from anywhere from 2 to 5 (depending on the character) to 2 really inspires such lasting panic. If they really felt there needed to be so many amulets (and with such an uneven distribution), they could have simply plopped them all in new containers (like they did with the player amulet in Crestwood) and called it a day; instead, they killed most of the offenders, which conveniently brought things to a more reasonable (and fair) level.
This is not true.More or less. You still get them from the occasional war table mission, but as far as I've noticed, there are none in the world anymore, meaning none for the Inquisitor at all.
There are three amulets left as loot: Cassandra's in the Fallow Mire, Blackwall's in Adamant, and the player amulet in Crestwood. Each of these is always accessible.
There is an additional amulet for the player from the war table, but it requires a certain outcome to the plot at the Winter Palace. And this is the way most of the amulets work now: one is available with little or no restriction, and the other requires certain plot decisions (it's not possible to get every amulet in a single playthrough). (The only exceptions would be Dorian's, whose is so hard to get it may as well not exist, and Sera, who only gets her easy one.)

If you don't mind using mods, all I can do is direct you to the Amulet of Power Fix Unfixed mod. Otherwise, I'm sorry. I'm not surprised in the slightest by the trend of poor decisions, but I'm sorry.

Swobyj: Use mods. Biower likes to ruin things so we the Master Race have to rely on modders and their mods.

Are you sure? I don't recall running into any my current playthrough, even at Adamant. I'll check the Crestwood shack next time I play. How do you get the Inquisitor amulet from the war table? What are the requirements at the Winter Palace, I mean. I'm sorely lacking passives this time and I'm desperate for some points.

I am still getting a few amulets. The one from the house in Crestwood is still there for the Inquisitor, also the ones from the War Table work. Found one for Cassandra in Fallow Mire, and one for Blackwall at Adamant. The ones missing from my game is the dragon loot ones. Silly for them to not even adress this in any patch notes or anything like that.

All of the War Table amulets are still there, so Varric and Vivienne get an extra 3 amulets apiece. It isn't going to change anybody's game.

Let me guess, the wrong voice is used for non-cutscene/conversation dialogue? We do know about it, it's caused by not using the default voice for your race selection (dwarf and qunari=American, elf and human=english, do it any other way and you get the glitch).

Yes. Blackwall's never changed, and they actually removed all the other stuff from the chest in the Fallow Mire (so Cassandra's amulet is the only thing in there now, bypassing the exploit). Are you sure?
The player amulet was moved to a ground container in the corner of the locked house (it's just a loot prompt when you look at the ground there now).
You need to reconcile Celene and Briala. The war table operation you get afterward gives an amulet of power for the player as the reward. What are the requirements at the Winter Palace, I mean. I'm sorely lacking passives this time and I'm desperate for some points.
There should only be 2 for them AFAIK (Varric had 5 and lost 3, and Vivienne had 4 and lost 2).All of the War Table amulets are still there, so Varric and Vivienne get an extra 3 amulets apiece. It isn't going to change anybody's game.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one who knows about it, and that we know what causes it. I didn't actually know different races had different defaults. Either way, it's really annoying, and even if Bioware knows about it, they haven't fixed it after this many patches, so I'm still frustrated with them.

Thanks for the info. I just got the one from Crestwood. Silly me, forgetting to unlock all of the Deft Hands, Fine Tools doors after I got the perk.
