The necro ability where if they die they temporarily revive? And if they heal enough they fully revive right? Because I used resurgance and dorian was healed to full and then died because of simulacrum. Is there a HP threshold? Is it only hp recovered vie his passive? Does resurgance not count for whatever reason?

It happend often to me, I die Simulacrum kicks in. While in this state i healed with HoK or Death Syphon, and most of the time when Simulacrum expires I´m alive. But not always. I am not sure it´s intended to work this way.

IT's happened to me in multiplayer as well. I have no idea what the trigger could be because apparently full hp isn't it.

The description says: "You cannot be revived by any means until the spirit leaves." So basically, you have wait until the passive ability's duration ends, let the necro be completely "dead", then apply whatever revive skill or action.

It's kind of a cool bug if Resurgence healed him while the spirit was still active -- probably shouldn't happen.

The character dies and the simulacrum takes over. The character is already dead at that point (you can't use it to cheat death), and you have to wait until the simulacrum ends to be able to revive them (which could end up being worse for you than if they'd just fallen right away).

It also has precedence over guardian spirit (which would normally keep you alive). So you get a little health and full barrier but end up dying anyway once the simulacrum duration ends.

Not recommended if you're really good at reviving fallen companions (since you have to wait for it to end before you can do anything) or if you intend to pick guardian spirit (since it will negate the effect).

But sometimes after simalcrum ends they get right back up with whatever health they've gained and it's always after they get a few heals. Necro in multiplayer does it and I've seen it happen a few times to dorian.

That's probably because something died just as/right after the simulacrum expired, meaning you self revived. It's more common in multiplayer where heal on kill is often used that way with certain classes. From what I understand he easiest/most reliable way to pull it off with a necromancer in Single Player is to craft them a 1% heal on hit item.

^Yeah, the heal from either kill or hit must occur after Simulacrum wears off.  Any healing while it is active will not bring you back from the dead.

If you have "Heal on Kill," you probably want to try using something like Spirit Mark or Walking Bomb before it wears off.  With "Heal on Hit," use something like Energy Barrage right before it expires.

I think this ability is a bit clumsy.  I would probably deactivate it on Dorian if I was able (since I run my companions largely on autopilot), but it is a passive.

I mean isn't the entirety of necromancer clunky? IIRC every single active is bugged o.O

It happens consistently if you use heal on hit and dot spells like horror (upgraded), walking bomb, and wall of fire.

check this video. basically you can have your ai controlled necromancer just do all fights for you even on nightmare in case you want a coffee break. just make sure you main character is safe somewhere. those enemies must feel really demoralised though after killing someone 10 times only for them to "stand up" again and continue electrocuting them.
