Really want a map where we can have a pvp match, maybe something DOTAish where we must secure specific zones to get points(winning team should get 100 points for example) and neutral mobs on map. So yeah think of it as 3rd person DOTA:)
And what are your thoughts on pvp mode in DAIMP?
Go play DOTA ![]()

I'm at the point of starting a change.org petition for this.
I want it SO bad; though it would require a lot of teamwork which DAIMP isn't really known for.
Or troll.

I would love to see this. I would like to see two ladders:
1) All promotes and gear are allowed
2) No promotions and standard gear only
I think it would be amazing.

Release me, here is a good habit to get into. Add: "In my personal opinion" before all of your assertions. You will find you annoy people less.

Then perhaps you can start yourself showing the right example, right?
Furthermore, this is not a matter of opinion but a statement of fact. BW have made clear before the game's release the MP will focus entirely on co-op. You don't have to take my word for it, of course. You can also research this yourself, in my personal opinion.

Yes the focus was and still is coop play. We are speaking here of perhaps changing that focus by adding something more to the ground work they put in. Honest question, you understand that was the point here right?

You could play the pseudo PvP mode: Heartbreaker against Red Templars. All you have to do is get hit by confusion grenades and kill each other before the Red Templars kill you. Remember keep your friends close and your enemies closer, and yes that includes you. So get out there and show those Red Templars you can off yourself and your friends quicker then you can say: Wedge of Destiny and Jade Ham combo. ![]()
Just a suggestion a little birdy told me.

In the new DarkSpawn mode the boss battle is a shadow version of each player - same stats, same weapons and armor, same abilities - just an evil looking AI version that wants to put you in the ground. #thisisnottrueatall

I have played lots of pvp games including first person shooter, DOTA, RTS, etc and I have no interest in them. I do have an interest in seeing how pvp with dragon age mechanics would work out, I think it could be great. Comments along the lines of..."Go play a pvp game of another genre" are not relevant, add no value and simply get in the way of meaningful discussion of how this COULD work.

This is analogous to saying, "I have an interest in seeing how explosives with chess mechanics would work out. I think it would be great. Comments along the lines of... 'Go blow up a board game of a different genre' are not relevant, add no value and simply get in the way of meaningful discussion of how strapping a grenade to a rook's arse COULD work."
You would fundamentally change the game in either case. Sooo...my response is still NOPE. ![]()

...No but I would genuinely love a friendly fire toggle in the settings menu :3

Or troll? What else are we gonna day, play properly? What, when we can kill each other?

Wait is this actually a thing? I haven't played much recently. If so, I think I have a new favourite difficulty and faction :3

I would consider the friendly fire mode to be something just for fun and laughs without serving a real purpose, like the Ability Draft mode in Dota 2. But the amount of time it would take to code makes me saed.

@shackleshotgun
I'm not familiar with coding and programming, but would it take too long to just steal it from singleplayer and add it as an optional setting?

Since I haven't worked with Frostbite, I don't really know. (PAGING BLAR).
My GUESS:
(this is going to be tricky to explain so bear with me)
It's different than SP, you wouldn't be able to put an option in the settings of the game. Because for order for it to work, everyone in the party needs to have it enabled. You can't have one person have it on and have them to kill everyone. They most likely would have to copy everything, and enable friendly fire on the "copy". Then, when you create a new game/search for one, you get the option to choose Friendly Fire Off/On (like with the difficulties/areas). If you chose On, you'll be thrown in into the second "copy", and if you choose Off, you'll be thrown into the original thing. More or less like when you search for games in certain areas and whatnot.
Basically
if (player has Friendly Fire ON) {
Send them to the "copy";
} elseif (player has chosen random) {
randomize;
} else {
send them to the original;
}
But my guess to this is that I'm making this all too complicated.
AN EASIER METHOD would be is to create new difficulties, like Routine (W/Friendly Fire), Threatening (W/ friendly fire) so forth and so on. But they would still have to copy the original diffuclties and enable FF on them and then use the thermo gigawatt converter on the flux capacitor because the dilithium crystals are out of arrangement.
Sure, the friendly fire code is in the SP, but it's not enough to just copy paste that and call it a day.
I don't know. Call Blar. But it would take a lot of work, that's what I'm sure of.
