I'd buy Disney and liquidate it

I'd buy EA and start firing people I don't like.

You've misunderstood the word "firing".

The things I'd do with an unlimited budget:

I'd pay Disney for the rights to make Star Wars games and then I'd make Knights of the Old Republic 3, Imperial Commando, Jedi Academy 2, The Force Unleashed 3 (for the sake of ending the cliffhanger), and Battlefront 3.

I'd pay Warner Bros for the Batman film and television rights and I'd bring back Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond and the Teen Titans animated series. I'd also have a Batman Beyond Live-action film made.

I'd fund the WataMote Manga and make as many Anime episodes as the Manga material would allow.

I'd send Simfam a Yang Wen-li bodypillow because he needs one really badly.

I'd have an invisible tank made for myself and park it behind cars in parking lots so that when they'd back up they'd get damaged and the owners would be confused.

Furthermore, I'd pay myself $10,000 a month.

These are things that clearly need to be done and will get the world back on track, thus bringing about happiness.

Build a house.

Build a cycle car with a Ar Tonelico Tower Administrator look.

Build a 3D printer. Subsequently build a lot of things with said 3D printer.

Buy a large section of abandoned Detroit and turn it into a post apoc theme park.

I'd include a very publicly known Dead Man's Switch in my will. If I die, all of my gold reserves will be given to every warlord, cartel and terrorist group on the globe that can be found. The powers that be either face change under my rule or complete anarchy. Also, having that much free gold just dumped on the market will completely bottom out the value of gold, having the side effect of crippling most of the world's economic bases.

I'll drag their clan to glory... whether they like it or not.

Yep, the day when Fast Jimmy became Emperor Son of a....Jimmy.

Why? Why would you trust them with even a fraction of discontinued pennies? Buy them out and do it yourself (by which I mean hire people and make the way it should be made.)

What makes you believe the people I hire would do a better job? A lot of the people that are currently working on Andromeda never worked on the previous 3 games. The other thing is I would throw in my ideas that I would like to see done.

I would actually trust some of your opinions. You've played those games more than anyone I know. ;)

I might be the only one, but I would like for Bioware to remake the trilogy. The first thing I would do is change the date that ME1 takes place to 2283 instead of 2183 that way humanity has been part of the galactic community for 130 years instead of 30 years

so you want to change the game's main plot point?

I'd spend the rest of my life traveling, going places you'd never see as an ordinary tourist. Like go an a jungle expedition, explore caves, the arctic sea, take a dive to the bottom of the ocean. Get in shape for serious mountain climbing, and then do it with a guide.

And while I'm at it, I'd try to help as many people as possible wherever I go. I'm never again donating to charity (at least not the big ones). Farmer needs a new barn? Done. Fisherman needs a new boat? No problem. Somebody can't pay their medical bills? I'd do it for them. Stuff like that.

Also, I would get this:

Spoiler

Because anyone is better than people who signed off on the endings or made other derp decisions.

And they still have Walters in charge for Andromeda so don't get your hopes up.

Probably make a video game with a mishmash of things I like:

1. Player pilots a transforming mech (fighter jet and humanoid form). The player also has a squad of other pilots in mechs that fight alongside you and receive simple orders. You and your squad of pilots are fully customizable.

2. Player also has other forces participating in the battles (infantry, tanks, artillery, VTOLs for atmospheric combat; interceptors, bombers, frigates, cruisers for space combat). These units are also customizable to a degree.

3. Player has a command ship where you complete research to upgrade your mechs and your forces, much like XCOM. Command ship is also used to travel between star systems.

4. Player fights hordes of giant insects, robots, kaiju, etc. across about a dozen star systems. Much like EDF 2017 or 2025, but in space.

5. Probably excessive amounts of fanservice.

6. Cheesy '80s rock/pop soundtrack.

This baffles me. The only solid writing in all of ME3 was done by Weekes, who is now firmly on the DA team. So any talent Walters had, either as an actual writer or a manager of writers, is questionable, given the nearly universal questioning of how most of the game was pulled off.

Maybe it will come out and, with a totally clean slate, be amazing. I wouldn't bet a nickel on it if I had all the money in the world, though (ironically, the topic of this thread).

Weekes, huh. Not the biggest fan here.. although I liked Jack. But even then, he didn't write her originally. And then talked crap about her when the original writer left. lol. Otherwise, Weekes is mostly known for Tali. I have nothing bad to say about it, but she's a niche as far as I'm concerned.

I would've liked Walters in ME3 more, if he went back to writing Garrus and Wrex. At least I'd know they wouldn't be so chatty and act like BFFs. I believe John Dombrow was a fan once before getting hired. And I think it shows.

Sorry to derail.

I'm more concerned with the areas Weekes wrote than the characters - I believe hewrote most of Rannoch and Tuchanka, the high points of the game (if not the series). Indiviudal character writing rarely interests me.

Man, I have like 20 game designs in my Wiki I would love to turn into reality. Here's just the current top 5:

1. A steampunk fantasy (i.e. machines AND magic) RPG where you captain a ship to explore a world completely submerged in water. Think Mass Effect + Descent + FTL + 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea - with magic and monocles.

2. An open-world sci-fi action RPG starring a female cyber cop with a mysterious past. This would be her theme song. Think open-world Mass Effect with a touch of Deus Ex and the Batman: Arkham games.

3. A trilogy of open-world RPGs where you play as a hero who has a blood bond with a dragon, who is both your mount and your companion. Basically, Scalebound has beaten me to it. And yes, I'm beating myself up over it.

4. A Supreme Commander-style epic RTS featuring space Romans with force-field scutum and laser pilum, Egyptians with hover chariots and flying pyramids, and Chinese with giant terracotta warrior robots and flame-spewing dragon battleships.

5. A space real-time tactical game played entirely in first person, so you can explore your flagship and talk to your crew and such. Basically, a Captain Adama simulator.

And many, many more. Hmm. Maybe I should start learning Unity.

My brother and I once talked about what we'd do if we came into oodles of money. While this was about a decade ago, my idea remains the same.

I'd build a real-life Spencer Mansion.

Spoiler

Probably minus the gas traps, giant snakes and such, but it would be mostly faithful to the source material. There's a forested hill that's about a ten minute drive from my house that would be perfect for it. I'd open it to the public on Halloween, even though idiot kids would probably trash the place and steal stuff. Coming up to the front door on any other day would result in the visitor seeing a sign that reads "Don't OPEN that door!"

...if anybody here DOES come into a lot of money, please steal my idea. I want this to be a thing that exists.
