The leaderboards need redesigning to be more meaningful. Currently all they do now is show how much time someone has been able to pour into the game rather than how good they are. Region restrictions are the least of its problems...

Any game with a global leaderboard or after action reports is bound to be full of glitchers and cheaters. I learned a long time ago to not even bother with anything other then the friends list ranking if I want to compare stats. Its one of the reasons I like co-op mp so much better then PvP mp, far less stress involved when you're working with people rather then against.

Regional leaderboards worked in me3 because it had thousands upon thousands of players.

 

The DAMP playerbase is so much smaller, that's why it makes sense to consolidate everyone into one leaderboard.

 

I don't see Bioware changing this because of player base size.
