In what has to be the most cruel and black-hearted twist of cosmic irony the universe has ever known, Lenny Robinson was killed last night after his car broke down on Interstate 70 near Hagerstown, Maryland. He pulled his vehicle over to the side of the road due to the breakdown and went to check under the hood. While he was there, a Toyota Camry hit his custom Batmobile, which then hit Mr. Robinson and killed him. As of yet, the accident is still under investigation and no charges have been filed. Mr. Robinson is known for dressing up as Batman and traveling to various children's hospitals, where he would give toys and comic books to the kids. By all accounts, he was a fantastic guy.
Lenny Robinson became a bit of a viral celebrity after he was pulled over by Maryland police in 2012 due to his Lamborghini Batmobile. He was 51 years old. I don't know if he was hit right after getting out of his car, or if he had moved his car over to the side of the road for some time before the collision, none of the sources I've checked made that clear.
He was a real-life super hero, and he will be missed.
