Speaking for myself, I was actually extremely excited when I first got Certainty (the red lyrium sword). A large upgrade to the generic blue 2H axe I had been using. Lore-heavy powerful weapon that looked badass:
"A sword of deepest corruption and conviction, it cannot be the red lyrium blade that drove Kirkwall's Knight-Commander Meredith to madness. It cannot have been reborn in arcane energies somehow elven and Tevinter and Blight intertwined. And it cannot have inspired in the name of a magister who once entered heaven and would dare so again. One wonders what this sword cannot be next, in the hands of the Inquisitor, if he/she is not careful."
...which I then replaced with a pretty generic Swift Greataxe:
"The blades of this axe cut the air smoothly, almost eagerly."
...which I've mostly replaced with an even more generic Maul of the Dragon:
"???"
There's not even a description or anything for the Maul. I guess some random maul found in a random dragon's hoard is better than an axe forged by the followers of a god of war or a sword of freaking red lyrium which drove parts of the plot for two Dragon Age games.
I mean, really? I get that new items were added and all that but it feels kind of terrible to replace Certainty with either of those items. I wish there was a way to keep the lore heavy (and/or awesome looking) weapons relevant rather than replacing them with generic new stuff.
