Caliban, Sulevin Blade, Bow of the Griffon, Fury of the Veil - three years from now, when I think back on DAMP, these will be the weapons that first come to mind - not dragon weapons, hakkon weapons, nor anything in between.

I think it's a travesty that these weapons, which helped shaped the identity of DAMP in the early days, are now irrelevant, discarded as so much salvage trash.

Bioware, please re-level these weapons up to level 29, and make them the iconic weapons they were always meant to be.

Thank you.

(but please don't make us farm them from ferelden castle!)

I thought it was Punched by the Maker and Pyre of the Forgotten that was the good ones. Well Pyre definitely had more base damage.

They're good too.  I say level all of the original ones up.

Example:

Punched By the Maker (level. 29)

Base Damage: 230

50% Armor Penetration

150% Critical Damage Bonus

30% Chance to apply walking bomb at 300% weapon damage

HA! 30% chance at 300%? Pffff lol

I guess they could make it so that there's a level 23 and a level 27 version some time from now. If the Caliban has a level 12 version, it wouldn't be that far fetched to see.

Just the other day I got a level 8 bow of the griffin, so it's possible to get them at other levels already. Why not bump them to 29? Or just let us upgrade them by 1 level at a time for an obscene number of materials.

Exactly, that's how I came up with the idea.

They made crappy versions of all the original weapons (I have no idea why - doesn't make sense to me), when instead they should have be making better versions of them.

Another example:

Sulevin Blade (level 29)

Base Damage: 380

50% Armor Penetration

+300 Strength

Chance to Cast Pull of the Abyss

Chance to Cast Static Cage

OK, I laughed. That was a joke, right?

only problem with this would be power creep. if we are not gonna get anymore difficulty increases(i doubt anything tougher than heartbreaker is gonna come out) then lv26 and possibly 27 should be the sweet spot. maybe make these proposed weapons a different set of lv26s kinda like the ones we have now. this way people would have different sets of the same level end game gear they can aspire towards.

Speaking for myself, I was actually extremely excited when I first got Certainty (the red lyrium sword).  A large upgrade to the generic blue 2H axe I had been using.  Lore-heavy powerful weapon that looked badass:

"A sword of deepest corruption and conviction, it cannot be the red lyrium blade that drove Kirkwall's Knight-Commander Meredith to madness. It cannot have been reborn in arcane energies somehow elven and Tevinter and Blight intertwined. And it cannot have inspired in the name of a magister who once entered heaven and would dare so again. One wonders what this sword cannot be next, in the hands of the Inquisitor, if he/she is not careful."

...which I then replaced with a pretty generic Swift Greataxe:

"The blades of this axe cut the air smoothly, almost eagerly."

...which I've mostly replaced with an even more generic Maul of the Dragon:

"???"

There's not even a description or anything for the Maul.  I guess some random maul found in a random dragon's hoard is better than an axe forged by the followers of a god of war or a sword of freaking red lyrium which drove parts of the plot for two Dragon Age games.

I mean, really?  I get that new items were added and all that but it feels kind of terrible to replace Certainty with either of those items.  I wish there was a way to keep the lore heavy (and/or awesome looking) weapons relevant rather than replacing them with generic new stuff.

Just do the sensible thing and raise top tier weapons to the same level, giving us more options.

+300 Strength? Hmm... how about +400 everything with 100% crit chance and 5000% crit damage? Plus 25% heal on hit and chance to cast rampage. Could do with -99% stamina costs as well.

if we're talking a level 29 weapon... -100% stamina costs is certainly the way to go.

Oh and how about a new tier 8 amulet with a 100% ability cooldown to go with this new weapon? Sounds reasonable. I mean how else am i gonna be HB? Promotions? Ha!

Nah... +400 all stats is the way to go.

If you're gonna dream big, might as well go all the way. All sulevin blade needs is 100% insta win entire match on hit, 100% boost to max stats (constitution, willpower, cunning) on hit.

This is the answer. So many weapons with unique abilities that are nearly useless due to their low base damage...it'd be nice if there were a way to bring them up to the level of higher tier weapons.
