Athame's Shield!  What have you done to that poor asari?

Edit: I have just decided, "Athame's Shield" is profane.  YW.   :D

Interestingly, while looking for a decent image of said shield, an 'Athame' was a pagan ceremonial blade.  Why is that interesting?  Well, elsewhere around the web I'd speculated that the Maiden, Matron and Matriarch stages of the asari are comparable to the tri Earth Mother goddess of the pagans of Northern Europe, Maiden, Mother and Crone (not quite as flattering in the latter stages but still).  Now I'm wondering if there's more pagan/Celtic influences around the asari.  Hmmm.

So basically what you are saying is that is a photo-shopped copy of Wonder Womans shield?

But reading up on our favourite blue beauties, they seemed to similarly go from a polytheistic system to a monotheistic, though the reasons don't appear to be detailed - I wouldn't compare the Prothean 'enlightenment' to how monotheistic belief systems came to Europe anyway.

Stay away from this kind of speculation... it's an endless pit, with no lights and filled to burst with strange appendages who want to know you... intimately.

For instance: Asari mean "fishing" in Japanese (true story)

Asari gohan is a basic "pick me up" dish, with clams, mushrooms, carrots and rice (again, true story). Coincidentally, gohan is old Prothean for "I like my primitives with rice".

We may only suppose at this point why the Protheans uplifted the Asari...

Well, I like Asari and carrots - things just got better. Though I'd prefer Asari sitting at the table with me, not starring in the ingredient list.

OP, it is possible that those people sent you friend requests and you ignored them!

PS. Your avatar is beautiful. Have a nice day!  :)

I suppose it depends on the kind of eating you're doing... but I think you're right. Conversation is a lot better when Asari aren't in the bowl.

I haven't purposefully ignored anyone I don't think... haven't noticed any friend requests via Origin either.

I'm not sure my avatar is beautiful, if you have seen the source... lol.  He's the dubious dad from 'Don't Hug Me I'm Scared' - not for those of a weak disposition.  I wouldn't call it NSFW, more like... not safe for sanity.

I wouldn't doubt the 'with rice' thing was a purposeful gag by the writers, due to Javiks propensity to state which species were tasty.  I just find it interesting to see where writers get their inspiration from, and I'm big on the 2000AD comic strip 'Slaine', in which Danu the tri Earth Mother is a large part of the legend.
