i noticed guard on my keeper, is that a bug or a feature?

You've likely got the Yavanalis staff equipped, as it gives you guard on hit. If that's not the case, and you're playing on PC, there are hackers that use trainers to basically give the entire party full barrier and guard; along with near invincibility. As far as patch notes, the most recent one was patch 1.09.

Seems to also be a bug with the new silent sister sometimes having guard splash over to other party members.

I'm running around with a hakkon and the guard gain was more like a hit with "to the death". Might have been a connection issue but i remember a silent sister in the party thats why i'm curious.

That could be it. Perhaps the extra guard from to the death is spreading to the party instead of just the person who cast it?

Definitely. Noticed it on my keeper. I don't even have Yavanalis.
