Mainly because I wanted a piece from noflutter as an artist I respect for a while now. I thought Dragonracer & Parthian X (and others) would like to see female Katari too, as she shares my love of the Katari. The male Katari is badass, but by commissioning visual representation as female, it would be more inspirational for the female segment of the gaming population.

 

i.e. It makes me feel good and smile, I think it makes others feel good too, supporting an artist I like, with goodwill that easily justifies the cost that is both worth the professional artist's time and does the community good.

 

Actually pay for professional creative work? How dare I!

Yeah the difference is is that I didn't pay $200 for this avatar. Somehow im not surprised that Drasca is a weeaboo. Though honestly id rather this spam wasn't clogging up the Combat Strategy section of the Multiplayer forum. This doesn't belong here. It has no relevance to MP in any way.

Oh dont misunderstand me!

I actually glad it was a paid one, as many artist selling free art just to get recognition and by it possible buyer layer for their work. It was just not clear to me that it was a request or a real commission. 

Art is good. 

Makes people smile and happy and also art can be also a profession. I am in this industry so for me it is nice to see how happy it makes you, bonus the fact you posted it up also giving her more credit/support as you spread her, which is mutually nice.

You got something you are happy for and the artist got a bit of word on her works

If I draw Xs and Os on it so that it looks like a football skirmish action plan (what do they call those anyway?) -- would that make it more palatable?    Gah.  Wrong choice of words.   Ummmm.  Umm.  I mean, would that make it more acceptable?
