From the wiki: The hair tentacles are semi-flexible cartilage based scalp crests

So they can move them to the side when they sleep?

They can also sleep sideways or with their faces in their pillows... They might be able to move them to the side, but I can imagine this would be unpleasent.

That would make sleeping either unpleasant or weird. ^^

Well, until LOTSB I imagined they sleeped in pods or something, but then we were introduced to that lovely Asari motel on Illium. And in ME3, Liara had a bed in her room lol Well, I doubt the developers spend time to think about this little details anyway, as the Male Turians would also had a hard time sleeping too, with that spike things above their heads.

From the perspective of a human, yes although I don't think there are a lot of humans interested in sleeping as an asari. There would probably be more that would prefer to replace the word ''as'' with the word ''with'', and I can't really blame them...

Turians sleep hanging with their feet from tree branches or bars.

Asari? probably on their sides, but one would guess that they do not spoon with each other.

Yup.

I would have expected beds with an cutout to rest their head in... so the tentacles/spikes don't rip the pillow to shreds. Because sleeping on your face when you're a well endowed asari is probably even worse than getting cramps in your neck from having to keep your head sideways all the time.

Turians have a metallic carapace, so I don't think they actually need a soft surface to sleep on.

Different species might concentrate on their preferred aspects (perceived 'beauty'), rather like different countries do here on Earth, but the asari look as they do IMO.

From some of the questions here, it would seem that some have missed a lot of in-game content regarding the asari.

Liara to Joker, who facetiously asked about the asari's adornments over the comms.

"They do not 'flop around'."

:D

Plenty of people sleep on their stomach. Having the back of my head rest on a pillow isn't very comfortable for me.

Not to mention it gives you some pretty nasty headaches in the morning. Ugh.

See, I've never experienced anything of the sort, but if I sleep on my stomach my neck hurts like hell in the morning.

Guess however they sleep asari are used to it.

Given the abundance of Asari prostitutes

Eh? There's Sha'ira, the Consort. That's one.

There are plenty of asari dancers, but they're not prostitutes. In fact, there is an encounter in Samara's ME2 loyalty mission, where a turian is hitting on a dancer who protests that she is not a hooker.

I think "dancers" was always code for stripers in a game that didn't want to show nudity, though obviously stripers =! prostitutes.

I used to refer to them as strippers, but other posters then remark that they are dancers, not strippers, there's a difference, blah, blah, blah.

Shrug. It's the BSN.

Well, maybe this has been discussed here before, but I've seen this recently in a portuguese ME forum i'm in, and in there we didn't get to a conclusion that's 100% satisfactory.

If Asari look like blue human woman with tentacles instead of hair, that means all races in the galaxy can be potentially attracted to human females? I mean, most of the physical features are the same. In ME1, Liara even uses the default human armors, so, anatomically, they are pretty much the same as the human females (well, not counting their private parts, but let's not go there please lol).

But then, there are subtle comments in the trilogy, that actually say that most aliens find other races weird, like the blood pack leader commenting about archangel: "He is a Turian, witch makes him slightly worse to look at than you", even if Shepard is a woman. I know it's just one Krogan, but the trilogy makes it very clear that all species are attracted to Asari. So maybe they see them differently? Like this pic here:

tumblr_lphdglawmb1qlbl8ko1_500.jpg

Maybe they don't change much in terms of body shape, but their psychic powers could make each race see their faces a little closer to their on females? I know that trick could get old fast, like in the situation this pic suggests. In this conversation they could easily get to the conclusion they don't know their real appearance, but it does seem more plausible than the entire galaxy finding the Asari "extremely hot" and not the human females.

What do you guys think?

That would have been funnier if the group included a powder blue Quarian in their mask/body suits.

Asari look exactly how they look in game, though likely with more variation on the whole to account for limited memory space on the game that can't show the full breadth of asari appearance anymore than it can account for the full breadth of human appearance.

But no, asari do not look different depending on the species that looks at them. We see asari on video screens at several points throughout the series; there's no logical way an ability like that could work through a recording.

As pointed out, different species see different aspects of the asari as attractive. Salarians are attracted to their flexibility, turians relate with the headcrests, humans with the face. The fact that the melding process is suppose to be very pleasurable probably helps get over hangups about the attraction.

Aside from that, there's no evidence that every member of every species finds them attractive; Cortez doesn't, obviously, showing that  asari attractiveness doesn't overwhelm standard sexual orientation. I recall at least one conversation between a pair of krogans where one expresses the opinion that asari are too small and soft for his tastes, but given that we know of at least two krogans who did enter into long term relationships with asari, we can surmise that it really does come down to personal preference.

Well, since asari boobs in game are technically as rigid as a Turian's skin or a dreadnought's hull plating, I don't think there's an issue.

The Minbari in Babylon 5 had these beds that were angled towards the foot end and sported a triangular pillow.
