Grunt.
Maybe not my favorite but I was surprised at how good his character actually was.

Legion fascinates me the most, especially when you speak with him on his opinion about reaper technology and the heretics on their acceptance of reaper technology.
I'm noticing no one mentioned poor Jacob yet.

Tali is still my favorite character with Miranda as a very close number 2. I wanted to be able to get with Tali in the first game and couldnt so having her back in this one with a very emotional story worked for me. Her relationship with Shepard is very touching and I could see my version of him falling in love with her for real. She is strong, smart and has been through a great deal. I dont think she is as loyal as Liara but Tali has mistery about her that Liara doesnt because you cant really see her face but still feel her emotion. I am really into her new outfit too.
Miranda's look alone had me hooked since she is based off of a really hot actress. She is powerful and has a very cool personal story. I love how Bio Ware went through great lengths to make sure you were drawn to her physically. She doesnt wear mask when eveyone else does so you can still see her face. Her back and butt are always visible and they focus on her rear a lot during conversation. She is the pure sex appeal character and I love it.

Grunt was really well done. I love the krogans in general. And like ghost said they made him plenty deep. My favorites are when you just talk to him on the ship when hes talking about peeling a turian's head off, you ask him what's so funny. He says something like "Nothing, it's just great!" with a big smile on his face. Then the "not much point" joke was great too.

I have to say that all the characters were very well done, but Tali has got to be my favorite. The way they built upon her character from the first game as she matured was great.

Garrus, hands down. Bioware really outdid themselves in fleshing out his character. I love his sense of humor, his romantic subplot, and his in battle dialog - gets me every time. His charisma really rubs off on me during fights.
I also liked Mordin a lot. Grunt had a few good moments, and I loved Legion. But my favorite still has to be Garrus.

((Have to post using my husbands acct, grumble grumble))
Anywho, favorite Squadmate?
Garrus. I was not really aware when I played ME1 that there was going to be party type developement with the RPG, because it just wasn't a concept that really struck me unless it was something kind of forced (FF7?) or just planed poorly.
So when I finally found out HEY you can either have this annoying guy Kaiden totally stick it to you OOOOOR you can bang hot alien chick and not feel gay because they're all female! I was like... "Bwuah?" Yes, I killed Kaiden, and I romanced Liara because I couldn't romance GARRUS (plus it didn't hurt that she was well... hot alien chick). RAWRG.
Back to ME2... I also found it kind of funny that humanity's only hope against the Collectors/Reapers consists of a group of mostly non humans. I don't like the Illusive Man, I don't like Cerebus, but it's whatever gets the job done.
As for the rest of the squad, Mordin's singing was HILARIOUS. He's a great character. I found Jack annoying. Jacob was boring. Thane's a bit creepy, but I could dig him if I wasn't head over heels for Garrus. Miranda's a stuck up hoe with daddy issues. Tali is AWESOME, they did a really good job giving us a deeper view of what it is to be a quarian. Grunt is well... Grunt. Legion was a cool twist, and makes me think that the Quarians and Geth are going to have an interesting time of it. Samara hasn't been mentioned much, but I think it's really because I didn't really get to develope much of a rapport with her. She's like an Uber Paragon, because of that whole unable to show mercy deal. Zaeed, the merc, I think was summed up nicely by Joker (who I ADORE FYI.)
So yea... that's my two cents.

I love Mordin. His speech in one of the dialogues similar to, "Killed many people. Knives, Gun's, Once with farm equipment." was fantastic.
Oh, and of course I was happy Tali was back. She was the romance option.

Garrus by far was my right hand man. I used him to lead all the teams in the final battle. Plus some of his banter is really funny. The best 2 off the top of my head are when you're in the Krogan hospital about the best places to fight and when he harasses Tali on the Citadel about their old elevator talks.
Tali was interesting to see how they gave her more of a personality from ME1 where basically she was just an alien nerd.
Grunt is awesome. I didn't really like Wrex but Grunt seems more genuine. Wanting to find "Kin, clan and enemies" not just "kill for money".
Non squad is by far Joker and Ken. I'm happy they gave Joker a much larger role in ME2 and seeing the end with him killing Collectors was great. Ken is obviously a trow back to Mr Scott from Star Trek but still great to listen to him talk to gabby.
Though to be honest I want my old ME1 team back. I assume ME3 will give you the option of who to recruit since the blood bath ending would mean theres a new crew option but I'd rather pick and choose who I want from all 3 teams and make the ultimate dream team.

Jack was always in my group. Awesome character with one of the best abilities. Shockwave cleared a path whenever I needed one, and early on in the game whenever my health was red she would lift the attacker. I even chose her over Tali, and I really like Tali.
Grunt was great too because I basically transformed him from a new, tube-born krogan into an amazing warrior. I also liked his gung-ho attitude.
I'm one of the few people that doesn't like Miranda at all.

I like them all but here is my list:
Tali: She was my favorite from ME1, I used her for everything and I enjoyed her character. She grew even more in ME2 and I enjoyed her Loyalty mission and romance immensely.
Legion: Truly a fascinating character and new insights into the Geth and the Reapers.
Mordin: Very funny, witty, and intellectual. His singing and the joking he made about my character and Tali was spot on.
Miranda: Much deeper than I originally thought and her Loyalty mission is well done.
Samara: I liked her motherly role.
Joker: He was fantastic this go around, kudos to Seth Green.

Paragon-romanced. She has something really moving between the lines.
Mordin
For banter, wit, comments and.. well, singing

Probably Miranda. I found her Overload and Warp to be extremely useful in a whole gamut of situations. She was also sort of Shepard's handler (and later lover) so I thought it made story sense to bring her along.

In terms of battle, I find Miranda and Tali to be very useful. But in terms of character, I really like Grunt, Jack, Tali, and Miranda. I would have to go with Grunt for number one favorite though. That's just a really interesting story they gave him. Nothing about it was really cliche, he was just a guy trying to find himself. Sure, he was a badass, but he had something deeper. He's looking for purpose.
It's ironic because when I was first watching the character trailers, I was really worried that people like Grunt or Jack were just overly cliche badasses.

#1 Tali = I like everything, the writing, the VA, the romance. She is genuinely devoted to Shepard and her personal quest seemed more relevant to the greater Mass Effect world as it was a window it quarian politics and potential foreshadowing.
Runners Up:
Legion: Unique personality, I thought they were going to with the traditional CE kill everything living robot, recruited too late to form a real bond of companionship.
Mordin: Funny, with a very realistic moral compass, highlights are his singing, his views on the genophage as the lesser of all evils and of course his sex advice.
