Anyone watch this movie here? I've watched it twice now, amazing movie, best in the series. Tom Cruise kicks ass, Rebecca Ferguson is an even bigger badass, best chase sequence in a movie to date, etc.

Discuss.

1 was decent, 2 was garbage, 3 was good, 4 was awesome, this one is amazing. Theyve gotten better with each film aside from number 2

I'm planning on seeing this sometime this week. Are there any cool gadgets like in the last one? Just curious.

Come to think of it, no not really. They dont use many gadgets at all, aside from masks at one point.

My main problem was that, with all the tech he has access to, surely he could have made a water breathing device without metal in it to bypass the detectors?

I'm pretty sure we have something like that right now...

Expected 4 to be rubbish, but it turned out great.

Expected same for 5, but nope, was wrong again.

Should I make a similar prediction for the 6th?

Anyhow, haven't watched either of the two installments, but they certainly are on my watch list.

They're well directed action movies with a great cast of characters. Definitely recommend you give them a watch

I actually thought this one was so-so compared to GP and 3. Idk why, half way through it I was getting a little bored. But I also am really finicky about spy/action movies anyway. Bourne and 007 are the only series I can really stomach. If Rebecca Ferguson had acting ability beyond a wooden plank it might have been better IMO.

Actually there were quite a few gadgets in this film, such as the masks that you pointed out, but also

Spoiler
I'm probably forgetting 1 or 2 more, but they were definitely there. All in all though, this is probably my favorite of the M:I movies released thus far.

Why is he wearing one of those knit-hemp-sweatshirts from the 90s??

Because the clothing designer wanted him to wear a....knit-hemp sweatshirt from the 90's?

I have seen the movie a couple of days ago in IMAX, Wasn't as good as Ghost Protocol. The plot depth and complexity Brad Bird created was decreassed. But the characters complexity was increased, Which is a good way. Verdict is, Great movie, But still not better than Ghost Proctol in my opinion.

Didn't yet. I liked all of MI films and the previous one was my favorite. I very much liked Paula Patton. I would like to see her again in this one but I guess that's not possible.

Well unfortunately Paula didn't come back for this film due to scheduling conflicts, but since her character's arc was left open at the end of Ghost Protocol, it's only a matter of time before that character does return in some capacity.

I would like that indeed. She fits the franchise very well and she is a good actress. She made the best of her role.

I take it you haven't seen Fury Road.

Anyway great movie, I enjoyed it alot. Can't really compare it to the previous M:I movies since I don't remember them very well. Was 2 really so bad? I loved that one as a kid.

It's not terrible, but the action is so funny to watch, its a strange movie to be called mission impossible
