Do you think "What Pride had Wrought" Quest name and Solas' name could be related? The Quest takes place in the Temple of Mythal and revelations on Fen'Harel are made there...

Is the title a reference to Fen'Harel's actions? Discuss...

(Also I think Solas and Solas'An MUST be related... but this is another story)

Yes: the quest's title is deliberately meant to have several meanings:

Pride can refer to:

Corypheus ambitions of godhood.

Solas giving his orb to Corypheus

The Elvhen empire collapsing from its rulers' hubris and corruption.

Morrigan desire to acquire the Well of Sorrow because she fancies herself as deserving its power and knowledge.

I assumed that Solasan was related to Solas, somehow, but I didn't actually find any in-game evidence to support the idea. I was highly disappointed.

The "What Pride Had Wrought" thing is fairly obviously a veiled reference, though, since the entire quest has to do with the ultimate fate of the elves, which came about at least in large part due to his actions.

All titles come from the Chant of Light - but they always relate in some way to the quest itself.

For example, in the Chant "Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts" refer to the Old Gods (Dragons with wicked eyes and wicked hearts), but here it describes the nobility of the Orlesian Empire.

I assumed that Solasan was related to Solas, somehow, but I didn't actually find any in-game evidence to support the idea. I was highly disappointed.

I hoped so too - but it unfortunately refers only to the fact, that they imprisoned a powerful Pride Demon inside.

Bummer.

Well if you read between the lines (or are just crazy) it isn't too hard to connect them. Note, link has endgame and JoH spoilers.

Yes they are. They're all from the Chant of Light.

"Those who oppose thee

Shall know the wrath of heaven.
Field and forest shall burn,
The seas shall rise and devour them,
The wind shall tear their nations
From the face of the earth,
Lightning shall rain down from the sky,
They shall cry out to their false gods,
And find silence."
~Andraste 7:19

"Blessed are they who stand before
The corrupt and the wicked and do not falter.

Blessed are the peacekeepers, the champions of the just."

~Benedictions 4:10

"And the men of Tevinter heard and raised altars
To the pretender-gods once more,
And in return were given, in hushed whispers,
The secrets of darkest magic."

~Threnodies 5:11

"Then the Maker said:
To you, My second-born, I grant this gift:
In your heart shall burn
An unquenchable flame
All-consuming, and never satisfied."

~Threnodies 5:1-5:8

"Here lies the abyss, the well of all souls.
From these emerald waters doth life begin anew.
Come to me, child, and I shall embrace you.
In my arms lies Eternity."

~Andraste 14:11

"The Old Gods will call to you,
From their ancient prisons they will sing.
Dragons with wicked eyes and wicked hearts,
On blacken'd wings does deceit take flight,
The first of My children, lost to night."

~Silence 3:6, Dissonant Verse

"And So is the Golden City blackened
With each step you take in my Hall.
Marvel at perfection, for it is fleeting.
You have brought Sin to Heaven
And doom upon all the world."

~Threnodies 8.13

Abelas also means to be sorry, or sorrow.

I don't see how, if Solasan is so important to elven lore, it would receive no special treatment from Solas. From a lore standpoint, the idea of it being the resting place of the elven pantheon could make sense, but in a logical sense,it doesn't make any that you can just go in there and absorb all their essences, and Solas stay silent about it.

Thank you for pointing out the others.

I mean, "Pride" can refer to many characters and events near the end, yet everyone's always picking on Solas.

I love how the main story missions are named for lines from the Chant, and the meanings you can read into them. It makes the utterly "gamey" mechanics of quests feel more tied to the world.

As I played Inquisition I really rolled my eyes a couple of times as it looks like everyone forgot about the last 1100 years... The wardens go full retard, Corypheus' followers go full retard, and then Solas went even more.

Ok, Solas was not around when Cory and friends happened to unleash the worst enemy the world has seen... But he seems to know about wardens after his travels to the fade so he knows Darkspawn are evil. And he happens to give a powerful relic to a deranged mix of magister, priest and Darkspawn... Are we sure Solas doesn't mean imbecile in elven?

It's makes even more ironic that he disapproves of the wardens when his stupidity brought the evil that turned them into a bunch of idiot nugs.

I think the name of the quest points toward Solas and Corypheus but mainly to Solas, after all this was all his fault... And now it looks like in DA4 we'll have to kill another maniac obsessed with restoring the stupid old ways.
