We probably have more than a year until the release of Mass Effect Andromeda. So I've been thinking of passing some time with writing an imaginary Mass Effect Ennealogy, and I tought that some of you might be interested, so I decided to share it here. Feel free to contribute, the rules are very simple:
Feel free to change and add as much as you want to the previous contribution, but make sure the change is gradual. So if post #21 says Quarians exterminated the Geth, please dont write post #22 as Geth exterminated the Quarians. You can however change it to - "war was undecided due to.." or "peace was reached" allowing the following poster to change it further, if they want to.
Only use the latest post as reference on where the story is at the moment, and make changes to it, so it doesnt get confusing. For ease, and to avoid having everyone writing from scratch, just copy the previous post, make changes and additions wherever you want, and post it here
You can write for the entire ennealogy, or just for a certain game. Please color code the title and bold it so its easy to continue with the story
If you contributed, please wait for at least 2 posts before contributing again, so the thread doesnt disolve into an argument
Please dont argue. If there is enough interest for this thread, I can open a discussion thread, where we can discuss and "argue" on the contributions
I will start with a short idea, feel free to change it and add on as much as you want, and I appologize for grammar mistakes, which are plenty, but my English sucks. Sorry
Game 1: Just like the original, except dont make Sovereign the only Reaper that is left outside the Dark Space. Original cast
Game 2: War against the Geth led by remaining few Reapers, starts as a defence, but Shepard has a chance to unite the Galaxy and lead the attack, game culminates with Galactic fleets gathered and moving towards Ranoch to deal with the syntetics once and for all. Add 2 more companions
Game 3: Focused on Ranoch and Geth systems, especially ground combat. A large discovery is made near the end about Geth heretics, ability to decide the future of Geth Species. Will you deny the Reapers any potential synthetic allies? Or will you show mercy against a long fought foe that you didnt understand. As the final push is being made in Quarian home systems, Cerberus terrorists, led by indoctrinated Illusive man assault the lightly defended Citadel, and open it for the Reapers. Massive Reaper fleet pours in, and as the victory flag is planted onto Rannoch and first Quarians are unloading, the news hit the galactic fleet. Game ends with fleet rushing off to defend the Citadel and Cerberus forces impaled on Dragon teeth as a thanks for cooperations
Game 4: Half the Galaxy is lost, the other half is in panicked. Open combat with Reaper forces proves futile and Galactic alliance starts to fall apart, as each species recalls their fleets to help with evacuations. Shepard is sent on covert and guerrilla ops behind enemy lines to find out as much as possible obout the reapers, as well as other civilisations that came before us. Previous attempts at building the crucible are discovered, along with partial schematics on an Inusanon homeworld. The galaxy is given hope again
Game 5: The organics are pushed into just several systems, and are barelly holding on thanks to the desperate measures, such as massive minefields around the mass relays, forcing the Reapers to use their FTL drives and sloving them down. Yet without something massive the fight is hopeless. A special group of the best and brightest the galaxy has remaining is formed and put to work on project crucible. Shepard visits the homeworlds of previous great civilisations trough the cycles, finding more schematics for the crucible, avoiding and fighting the Repars, as well as expanding the lore and our knowledge on those species. Eventualy the Leviathans are discovered, and they inform us how X years ago they fought an extragalactic war with another specie from X galaxy. The war was long and bloody, but in the end the Leviathans lost. That other species in order to secure their position started harvesting the Leviathans and all other civilisations that came after them, at regular intervals, to prevent them from advancing enough to threaten them. The Reapers are discovered to be just sentient Leviathan husks and husks of other civilisations, from ships to people themselves. The information on crucible is gathered and the building begins
Game 6: With crucible completed, and more information gained on reapers and their masters, the galaxy unites in one final push. Game is similar to Mass Effect 3 in a lot of ways, except the ending choices and the star child/brat. Destroy or Control is the only choice, and depending on the galactic readiness that was gained by your actions in previous 6 games not only on main missions, but side missions as well, different participants will be there in varying strenght, again depending on choices in previous games. Also depending on galactic readiness, the battle will be more difficult, and some companions can die (but no scripted deaths). Massive space battle ensues, with ships firing on each other, boarding parties of husks unloading from Reaper ships onto Galactic alliance, and vice versa, Krogan charging into reapers like they once charged the Rachni nests with nuclear devices, setting them off and blowing Reapers from within. Crucible is activated by Shepard and mass relay system carries the anti-reaper or subjugation beam trough the entire galaxy. Dormant relays are activated, and the greatest Mass Relay of all, the Citadel is fully unlocked for the first time in its existance, allowing travel to the hostile galaxy that created the reapers. Knowing peace will never last until they are dealt with, the galaxy begins to rebuild not only what was lost, but also starts building the greatest fleet ever, one that would dwarf the reaper fleet itself
Game 7: Takes place 10 years after the events of Game 6. Depending on previous Romances, we might have a young human or Asari child running around. The repairs are largely done and the fleet is also complete. Using the information & technology gained in the reaper war, the Milky Way civilizations master the Mass Effect and Mass Relay technology and are able to build Mass Relays without any issues. The Invasion is launched and a star sistem in the other galaxy was taken. The construction of Mass Relays already begun. The local super civilization is shocked, and wasnt expecting an invasion, since their automated "reapers" were presumed to take care of any advanced civilization before it becomes a threat. The attack is led by us, now Admiral Shepard
Game 8: The Great war draws to a close. We are given several choices on how to deal with the losers, from mercy, to integration into Galactic alliance, all the way to extermination of that ancient and hyper advanced race.
Game 9: A giant Citadel DLC combined with Mass Effect Andromeda. We are able to visit every location, colonize planets, organise peace conference and sharing of the spoils, enjoy the world that we have created, and do a bunch of interesting side missions before finaly settling down and giving Shepard closure on his story.
