Depends on my rage level. I'll usually just bleed out when I get a bad w6 or w10 objective.

Bad waves are momentum killers (atleast for me they are). If I'm doing a normal solo just for fun then I couldn't care less how much BS is happening but if I'm going for a good quality speed run to post on youtube then bad waves are unacceptable PERIOD. Which is why you mainly see quality runs from most experienced soloers.

 

Edit* Grinding the rng for good objectives on console is maddening tho so sometimes a bad wave will just have to do. One bad wave with decent rng is far better than all good waves but devices on wave 10

PC eliminates one of those factors though on the objectives. I wish there was a way to do that on console. 

Yes, so much this. Grinding vs. RNG is miserable.

Unless the wave is going really poorly, almost never, as long as it's early enough in the run. By the end of wave 8/9 I can see if I'll be able to reach the desired time or not.

 

If some early waves go badly, there's still a chance of miracle rocket spawns on 8 or 9 where the entire wave takes less than 50 seconds to finish and you get back what you lost earlier that way.

Depends. If that's in the first waves, I usually suicide after the next objective. If that's wave 8-9, I usually push it to the end, as I always need the credits lol.

 

It can also depends whether I plan to upload the run.

Has there been sub 20 runs that aren't on Glacier or White? There has to be maps where it is just impossible to get it that low even with a lucky set of objectives......  Like I don't see it happening on Rio for example..

Yes.

 

Knockingbrain did a few on White - the ones I can remember are GI+piranha/white/reapers and DV+venom/white haz/geth. ctc91 on Xbox did one on white too with TSent+arc vs Geth.

^ I re-phrased it..nothing against PC players..wish I could be one..but I lack the technical knowledge to figure out how to do so...I was asking because It just seemed almost impossible on some maps, even if you get the perfect objectives, to hit the sub 20 mark.

^ Yes, there has been a PS3 sub-20 on a map that is not glacier or white.

Thanks Slasher..appreciate it...gonna check that out. I was getting kinda burned out..and I am not really a solo player..I get frustrated and quit alot...but some of the ideas you guys have been throwing around sound interesting.
