Likely no.

Even if I got my moneys worth out of DA:I it really wasn't what I expected out of the game, and thus will be waiting a while,

Not so sure.  While I liked the story and characters well enough, combat has gotten way too "steamlined" for my taste.

Plus some rather sleazy practices such as cutting off oldgen support mid-cycle and offering SP rewards for MP participation (despite promises not to) have me leery about trusting pre-release claims..

I really enjoy the hype before the game and waiting for the release so yes but I feel a little dumb about it.

If it ever comes out? Yes. Most likely the best version in store.

I will be pre ordering DA4 as soon as allowable.

When the option to pre-order games first became a thing, it was during a time that there was a chance you couldn't get a game because of limited supply. This is not the case in this age. It also establishes an unwritten trust with whatever developer that the game you get will be lit(for those not familiar with AAVE, that the game will be awesome) and in working order. That is also not always the case...if it is the case at all. I see no reason to pre-order anything from any company again given this information.

short and emphatic answer: NO.

Barring my sudden death or DA4 venturing into another genre entirely, then yes.

"Dragon Age 4: Dance Party" will not be on my Christmas list.

What if it's just a feature? Dance studio perhaps?

And yes, I will be preordering it, with the same caveats as above (though if da were to go all urban fantasy...)

I honestly don't see a reason not to. I tend to buy online, so I pre order, pay a little extra for shipping and then boom. Or I get the dl version and it preloads then on release day I have my game. Fire and forget.

I rarely pre-order games, so I doubt it. I DID preorder Arkham Knight because they offered the Harley Quinn DLC as an exclusive pre-order bonus. If they DO offer some exclusive for pre-ordering, I'll consider it since I'll likely get the game anyway... If not, then I'll do what I did with Inquisition... which is see if I'm deep into any other games, and wait until I finish those up before I buy a new game. Waiting on it allowed me to get Inquisition's Deluxe Edition during a Christmas sale!  B)

I didn't throw my XBox One at the wall because there was dancing in the Winter Palace. I can stomach some dancing.

But if there are extensive challenges that require me to hit certain combination of buttons while my character dances on screen, then NO, I will not buy DA4.

I'd preorder it now if I could. Even if I'm going to be middle aged when it comes out.

I might pre-order the next ME, but not the next DA

For sure I will buy DA4 within the first month.

Most likely. My give-o-f*ck meter doesn't show anything right now.

DAI didn't feel overhyped to me (alright, I was hyped waaaay past any known hype levels, but the game in my eyes more than met the expectancies, even with such hype) so yeah. I like, I trust, I buy, simple as that.

Not to mention that I'd rather give my moneys to BioWare than ever buy another Ubisoft game.

Hell, I'm preordering Andromeda. I don't care about the haters. You're going to have to burn me with an M2-2 before I notice.

No, I won't be pre-ordering DA4. I was so hyped throughout the entire DAI marketing campaign and I felt extremely disappointed with the game once I was able play it. I did only one full playthrough and never went far with the second, third and four. I couldn't push myself to go over so many hours of inane fetch questing. The lack of banter and boring, bland inquisitor didn't help either. I feel like Bioware punished me, for no reason, with a half baked and tedious game so I will punish them back with my wallet (the lack of access to it).

Very, very likely. But I have to think about which edition I will buy. Some of the map markers were broken when I received the Inquisitor's Edition.

In truth, maybe. It really depends on what it looks like and what they are promising. If the Devs promise more than three endings, meaningful choices and deep character development open world etc then h*ll no, I'm not touching it with a ten foot pole until either a price drop or player reviews. Fool me once with over promising under delivering shame on you, full me twice, shame on me.

If they aren't over hyping it then I may pre-order, if I think I can believe what they are saying though it would take a lot to make me trust them again since now we can't even believe what they show at conventions.

What would REALLY get me to pre-order with no reservations is a playable demo.

I will likely preorder DA. Both DA and ME had sequels when I started and I was hooked since then. I was there for Midnight launch for ME3. Got the best edition I could for guide and game. Sadly, for DAI, I wanted the Inquisitor edition and they were sold out at Gamestop for preorders. I was upset at first.. I had rationalized it as being spoiled and got over it. I thought, "well, they don't want more money from me." I had even considered getting the extreme edition of the guide with the bookmarks, ect. What held me back was I felt that it was incomplete without the IQ edition..so it was a no-go. I settled for the Deluxe edition and hardcover book. I do not regret preordering though.. the goodies included in the deluxe were not bad.

Sorry if this sounds like I am coming off entitled, but it was a major let down. Even though we've gotten the same game, I would have loved the extras. I've enjoyed all the novels, so the IQ edition just felt complete to round off the collection. I'll make sure I have my card ready and jump on it before [Not Available].

I will preorder it regardless, hopefully I will be able to get the goodie editon next time.

No. I will echo some of what has already been expressed here.

Preorder allows guaranteed sales and therefor allows devs to cut corners/content. It is inherently country to the interests of consumers.

I didn't like some of the bus I encountered with paying DAI just out the door. Some of them should have been easy fixes and the fact they released it knowing it had those problems was lazy. I want a game that works as it should so I will wait already a month to find out what bugs DA4 will have and if they fix those before I play.

Do they do well with continuing the story? We now have the Hero, the Champion, and the Inquisitor. How many more epic figures and unresolved mysteries/story lines can we get? Unless they are building up to something where all those who survive can make a difference, and if that is the case 4 would be a good time to start letting us know, and wrapping up some of the loose ends.

The forums will be rife with this info before a month is up. It will allow me to decide if it would even be something I want to spend money on. I have enjoyed the first 3 and I have played every single dlc. But I am starting to feel like it is not going anywhere fast enough. I am worried it will be the video game version of the X-Files tv series that ends with almost no answers.

If BW doesn't want to revisit old pcs, that is cool but I find it tiring the constant lose ends, especially with many of the romances. I play for story. While the grind can be fun it is not what o am looking for. I don't care how awesome the graphics are our how cool the combat engine, if the story gets hacked to bits they won't get another penny from me as the story is the sole reason I am buying (this is not to suggest that everyone should stop buying, if as a consumer you are getting what you want go for it).
