I am just curious, I was hearing that people was banking a  insane amount of Gold in the new DLC? I have it, but have not completed it yet.

Is the new DLC the go to place to farm items to sell now?

Yes. I made a few hundred-thousand gold from DLC stuff alone, and a couple hundred-thousand more since. You get about 7 times more from that store than anywhere else. If I'm not mistaken, you just sell everything for what it's actually worth, as in, what you would pay for it if you bought it at another store. The crafting materials there are also more expensive than the Black Emporium though.

The loot in the DLC is insane both in terms of schematics and items. My inquisitor's bank balance rose >300K and I didn't even farm anything.

By the time I finished I had close to 700,000. It was level 27 drops, mind you.

I finished hakkon with 100% clear, and sold everything except for about 3 items, and I think I only ended up with about 100k give or take.

I take it you are talking about descent banking all that gold?

Yes, the store we're referring to is in Descent. Its prices are inflated dramatically.

This. There's a vendor that sells Crafting Materials at your first camp in the Descent. I haven't checked if it's that particular vendor or just the value of the "valuables" and weapons I sold to him that I looted from the DLC area. For instance, I would sell him a common piece or armor or weapon that I looted from a chest in the deep roads and get like 7k from it as opposed to the normal few hundred you would normally get from the core game items, or even ones from Hakkon.

Yes, Descent. The loot in Hakkon wasn't terrible, but the loot in Descent is outstanding. It doesn't hurt that there's a really generous merchant in it. I guess goods really do sell for more in Orzammar!

Are you sure this is not an oversight by the Devs? I don't like abusing bugs or glitches, makes me feel like I cheated lol

It might be. It seems like he buys items from you at the value that you buy the item from a vendor... Or something to that extent.

Depends on which merchant was used to see items. I did not see the crafting merchant in the DLC the first time, and sold primarily at TBE. My second campaign was far more profitable, but both runs were great for the purse.

On my 20th or so playthrough I noticed you can go to desecent as soon as your at skyhold and start vendoring items for insane amount of gold. I did it around level 10 I think.

Good idea; guess one could consider getting set up there a proper test.

Iv made so much Gold already and I am just leveling in regular campaign. I go to sell at the merchant though. I guess since he charges way more then everyone else, he also pays way more. Hopefully this is intended lol.

But yea you can basically go there as soon as you get to skyhold, start vendoring your stuff and make quick 200k+ in just few hours. Buy everything you need in Black emporium.

Um, how are people leaving and returning to the Deep Roads?  Once I entered to do the DLC, there was no way to exit, even after I finished.  Or have I run into a bug (as seems likely)?

You should be able to fast travel from your quest map as normal.... I went to Skyhold a few times to put some rares in my storage and tint some new items.

D'oh!  Now I feel stupid: I didn't even try to go from the map, just tried to exit the level the same way I came in, and also tried from the "war table"!  This, despite routinely using the map in all my playthroughs!  Obviously, too much time has gone by since I last played this game!

Or, I'm a nitwit: that's likely, too!

Thanks for the advice!

Lol, it happens to the best of us... That would've been an issue when the next DLC finally comes around and you need to go back to Skyhold's War Table to start the new quest... "Where's the Inquisitor?!"

:) It happens to us all.

and yea just got to map and exit. What I did on a new playthrough was go their around level 12 I think and just cleared until the first camp was up, did the war table mission there to get the crafting vendor that buy and sells stuff for allot. Then I used map to continue story line, coming back to vendor everything. I think at one point I needed gold, I farmed snofluer skin for like 15 minutes, and sold like 200 for something like  22k gold. Then bought ton of Black emporium stuff.

But yea you can vendor early and often to get insane gold now.

Yeah, it's been awhile since I played.  For some reason, the control scheme came back to me quickly, but other things, not so much!  I'm taking another character through JoH right now, and will do Descent again after that, so I'm saving up a bunch of stuff to sell later!

Machine guns? What machine guns? Do you mean the repeating crossbows like Bianca? Why would that stop you from buying the dlc?
