If you're gonna hire someone to be the comic relief in ME4, please make sure that someone is actually.......you know......FUNNY, and not one of the unfunniest people on the planet.
Yeah, I'm looking at you, Seth Green. Bleh.

Did Seth Green kill your family or something?
no, only the scenes Joker is in.
no, only the scenes Joker is in.
Could you give some examples for good humor? (games, films, books)
Gungans confirmed?
Huh? With Joker unlikely to feature in MEA, the time to make a thread about this is now?
Whatever, I'm sure there will be some suitable comic relief in MEA...

No, I said they better hire someone who is actually funny, and I used Seth Green as a prime example of the blatant opposite.
So, who would be an example of someone who could read the exact same lines as Joker and be funnier?
ME!
NO!!
No, no, no, no, no, no, no... *gasps for air* No, no, no, no, no, no, no,no, no, no, no, no!
He's got a very slappable face!!! Surprised there were only 3.
I like humor when it involves being nerdy, smart-a, or makes a reference to something. Humor that is slapstick has never really been entertaining to me.
exactly. because we're SUPPOSED to find it funny makes it even more unfunny, especially when it comes from one of the biggest try-hards out there. even worse, I think they let him improvise. his god-awful jokes are plastered all over the script.

Y u no like Jokur?
the only time I found him funny was when he said that joke about the asari after Thessia. Too bad my femshep couldn't laugh at the joke or even tell her own joke
It's a little ironic that Joker would be placed in the same idea as slapstick, as the physical activity that slapstick entails would likely kill him.I like humor when it involves being nerdy, smart-a, or makes a reference to something. Frankie Boyle is is then:
That choice couldn't possibly offend anyone, surely?
Ahahahaha. His lines would push the game into "very strong language" territory. ![]()
To be honest, I never found Joker to be funny when he tried to make jokes. His comments after the main missions in ME1 were obnoxious and in the case of Therum didn't even match what we were shown in the game.
Joker: You know what I don't like about deep space travel? Crap radio stations, from two centuries ago... MY GOD we were idiots. (Exm; War of The Worlds radio show)
"I wonder if his fans know how Jewish he really is."
Nah, but Seth Green's awesome though. They should get Seth MacFarlane next.
I liked Joker.

Joker's humour is all about being a smartass, and not about slapstick, so I'm confused?
I smell a troll thread but what the hell. I thought Joker was a fantastic comic relief character. Why? Because of three reasons:
1. He as not always around but was only there on the ship, when we usually have some time to relax. So when things get serious on missions, they can stay serious.
2. He wasn't annoying. That's purely a matter of taste but I like his smart-ass sense of humor and snarly dry comments better than some slapstick idiot like Jarjar (ok, cheap shot here but still)
3. He has a role beyond his comic relief. He is the pilot of the ship and despite his snarkiness he has some really intelligent stuff to say as well. He is not a C3PO, who is pretty much useless as a character besides his weird comments
All in all, I don't really need a set comic relief character at all. I think the most funny scenes emerge in Mass Effect when it's the other characters that have funny moments when you wouldn't necessarily expect it. Think about Liara's comments during the LotSB car chase or Garrus, talking about how he likes to fight through classy antiquity stores. It's humor like this, that I find most precious in the ME games because it arises from characters who have more to them then being funny. The same goes for Joker to some extent and that's what they should stick to IMO.
