Dune was ok. I thought it was a bit weird at times and I couldn't really get into the second book.
If you haven't yet, go for Asimov though. The foundation series is really good. I still think they should just re-imagine the tech aspects of it to make it a bit cooler for modern day adaptations and then make a mini series out of it. It would finally give us some good SciFi to watch again.
