So what do people want to see in Andromeda?

Same classes as before or slightly different?

I always played vanguard in the originial triligoy - I love more melee focused/close combat roles.

Personally I would LOVE to be able to play an N7 SLayer class or something similar.

What do you guys think?

I tend to prefer classes that have high defense and healing. A paladin or cleric in many fantasy settings. So really I just want the sentinel to stay pretty much as is. Perhaps some other abilities to let me tank for my squad and I'm always a fan of more power no matter what form it takes but I'm quite comfortable with sentinels as they have been.

I'd like to see the same classes but more of an effort to make them feel different. I'd like to see class specific armor/clothes and maybe some class specific quests or solutions in quests. I also liked how in the first mass effect the classes had different training in guns at the start.

I'd say that the original 6 classes cover everything they need.

The N7 Slayer is just a melee specced Vanguard.

Retain the same six classes, but allow 'sub-classing in the form of power mutations, passive evolutions, et cetera.

I think what they should do is offer a greater variety of abilities so that we actually start getting different builds rather than every Shep Vanguard having every single ability maxed out except one at rank 3.

With all the new abilities in ME3 MP, we should have enough to pull that off with a few new ones.

Just googled "N7 Slayer." Yes. There definitely needs to be a class like that in ME:A's SP. Dear God, yes.

As long as I get my Vanguard or Vanguard-like class, feel free to throw in anything else that you like. :P

I'd like it if they kept the same 6, but went even further to make them all feel unique. More class specific abilities, and maybe they could add in alternate interrupt animations or dialogue options so we aren't just another soldier in cutscenes.

Well, in the Omega DLC you got a special interrupt if you were an Engineer, so it's possible they were testing that to see how fans reacted. Since the reaction was really positive, hopefully they expand on it more.

I'd like it if you had to do different playstyles based on which class you picked.  In ME1, you couldn't always go guns blazing, especially on higher difficulties with classes like the Adept, Engineer, and Sentinel, so that required you to think more tactically.  In ME2 and ME3, you could do really well with any class without much difficulty, and the only differences between the classes were their available weapons (ME2) and their available abilities.  ME3 made it worse by making it so that every class could use every kind of weapon.

While I did like the loadout flexibility in ME3, it made it less tactical and more of a 'shoot-em-up' game, imo.  None of the classes had disadvantages that couldn't be covered by firepower, so it removed quite a bit of the difficulty from the game.  I'd like for BW to go back to how the class differences were in ME1, making it so that their disadvantages can cause you to have to think of better strategies than 'shoot everything'.

Exactly what I was thinking! Liara's time capsule conversation also came to mind, it was really cool for our background and class choice to actually come up for once.

I prefer more traditional rpg elements, complex stats system,skills... rather than new classes,if there will be a new class,I would like to see a  Kasumi style rogue/assassin class with backstab mix with N7 Slayer class.

This is what I mean.

Imagine having the choice to stick with Biotic Charge, or mutating it into Poison Strike instead? They both have advantages and drawbacks, but fill a similar function. There are more abilities overall, but you have to choose how you build your character, adding both gain and sacrifice to the mix.

Just the original six classes would be fine with me, but I would need to see more room for creativity.  That's what made the multiplayer characters so great.  They were new spins on the same classes that we had been using for years.  Gives players the option to turn morph Tech Armor into an Omni-Shield, or allow us to channel our abilities into whips, blades, or other weapons.

The potential is there.  Bioware just needs to give us that extra bit of freedom.

I'm right there with you but careful talking like that. Trad. Rpg elements and stats are often marked as despicable buzzwords around here....

That would be good to have and really, I feel like we have so many abilities counting the ones in ME3 MP that they'd need to leave a bunch of them out if they didn't do something like this.

People tend to dislike mentioning traditional RPG elements because Mass Effect is not a pure RPG, and most arguments involving moving it towards that do so at the sacrifice of the third person shooter elements.

Not until you have Colossus X (or Predator L/M/H X, I guess) and HMWA X.

True, but that's end-game gear.   ;)

It's not but the series has been sacrificing the RPG elements for more TPS elements with each installment. As much as I'd love for ME:A to be 75% RPG and the rest TPS, it'd probably be best as 50/50. ME2 and 3 weren't that. But that's another discussion.

You can get it after completing the Pinnacle Station DLC http://masseffect.wi...ard's_Apartment.

Other than that, it indeed is gear that is only unlockable after lvl 50.

I'm on PS3, so I don't have access to that DLC.

I don't think we need new classes at all, so long as existing classes become less restrictive. I want to see more diverse power evolutions and a wider selection of powers for each class so that each can fill a wider array of roles.
