Today, I noticed a new item which I haven't seen before (I don't know where it came from to be honest. I was in the Emprise Du Lion area completing the Imshael quest).

It's called: Andraste's Sacrifice

Spoiler

Is that one of the new "relics of Thedas" items?

I only managed to get Leliana as Divine twice in my 5 playthroughs (the rest were all Cassandra). My latest playthrough, which finished about an hour ago, got Leliana (was rooting for Vivienne, I will never understand how this thing works I think) this time softened. (the previous one was hardened).

Anyway, I did not get through JoH with that character, and on my last two others it was Cass as Divine so I did not go through JoH with Cassandra. On my last playthrough I was able to take her with me, and oh my god, her presence led to a very interesting conversation with Ameridan about Seekers, Mages and Rite of Tranquility. I was positively surprised.

Yes it is, I have only managed to get the Kitty amulet from Western Approach keep. I ended up selling it, I dont like berserk type items, on nightmare it is a nightmare to use..

Yes it is a "relic of Thedas" item. I don't normally pay attention when picking up loot so thanks for pointing this out :D

The location of the item is the Emerald Graves (so I may have picked it up there)

Another new discovery for me today is Elan Ve'mal can give a war-table operation (the herbalist).

Edit: got ninja-ed for typing too slow

This seems like the best thread to post this :)

I found something rather interesting on my latest run through the Temple of Mythal. Something that I would have otherwise thought nothing of... if we didn't have The Descent DLC.

Check this out; this is the codex entry you get if you observe Elger'nan's Mosaic in the temple:

"Elgar'nan, Wrath and Thunder,
Give us glory.
Give us victory, over the Earth that shakes our cities.
Strike the usurpers with your lightning.
Burn the ground under your gaze.
Bring Winged Death against those who throw down our work."

"Gives us victory over the Earth that shakes our cities"
Maybe I'm leaping to conclusions here, but asking for victory over "the Earth that shakes our cities" sounds awfully similar to those enigmatic Titans we uncovered in the Descent DLC.
The Titans shape the Earth by quite literally shaking it. And the Elves in this song are asking for Elgar'nan's aid against the very Earth itself. Sounds incredibly similar does it not?

I wouldn't have given this verse a second thought if we didn't have The Descent. Now though, if this connection is accurate and not just me speculating wildly, it would bring up sound very intriguing implications.
Mainly, it would make it seem as though the ancient Elves were in conflict with the Titans themselves, if not the Dwarves as well. Or vice-versa.

I haven't seen anyone bring this up yet. It really stuck out for me and I though I'd share :)

It's very possible. There is another codex entry (the "ancient elven writing" found in the Arbor Wilds) that has something similar. Part of it says:

"In this place we prepare to hunt the pillars of the earth. Their workers scurry, witless, soulless."

It is codex entry 35 in the history section. I'm not sure, but I think you only get the partial translation if your quizzy drank from the Well of Sorrows.

I think Trespassers will give us hints on where they will follow with the implications we have seen in Descent. In DA4 we may face Titans. We will get probably more info on the elven lore in the new dlc and a lot of room for speculation in the coming years while waiting for the new game. :)
I have also my own theories about the early era where earth and sky- type gods fought each other, a la Greek mythology; while elven being descendents from old elven gods and the dwarfs from the Titans, but I leave this kind of complex theorizing to those who are able to interpret it correctly. It is difficult for a non native English speaker to deeply understand and interpret a lot of the lore, text, and codexes. While I really enjoy reading others insights about it, because I can understand them better.

I always thought those ridiculous flower crown things were mods. I had no idea they were an actual item, Ardent Blossom until recently.

I finally figured out how to get one for myself and...

Today, playing through theTemple of Mythal, I missed one place to go help the ancient elves. I got Dorian commenting on how he hopes they will hold against the templars, something like it. I reloaded, helped, and no comment from him. Nice little touch.

I had heard of this dialogue but assumed it didn't trigger due to a bug. Interesting.

To me it triggered when I leaved the "cave" on the left side, between the trees.

Fell through the map when going to Solas' room.

It played music and disappeared whenever I'd try to get closer.

I am now halfway through my fourth playthrough and I just discovered that Connor is in Redcliffe and you can actually talk to him! (before you get to Redcliffe castle)

I always ally with the mages because I prefer In Hushed Whispers (I chose the Templars in my first playthrough and wasn't really feeling it), anyway, during IHW Connor does his thing and there is a dialogue option that's all like "Connor! NOOOOOOOOO~~~!!!" which really bothered me because I kept thinking "how does my character even know who he is?!"

Ugh, I feel really stupid to have missed him in Redcliffe every single time!

There is a long thread in ME forums about things you discovered after several playthroughs or long hours of playing. I did try to search for an existing forum about this here, with no luck.

I just recently came back to DAI after passing a long time in TW3 univerese, it is fresh again, with the all the new DLC's out. It still amazes me, that after nearly 600 hours clocked in in DAI, I still find new little things I have never seen before.
Some of them are stupid of me though, for example, I never knew Astrariums open up caves with loot:) I never knew prisioners appear in Skyhold prision. Never had Vivienne's scene commenting orlesian decorations.

I would like to hear if you had that kind of wow moment in game thinking oh how I did not see/ found this so far?

Finally managed to collect all the shards. I opened the last chamber in the Solasan temple and I found a super interesting note. My bets are on Solasan being the place where either was waiting the orb or Solas or both. I hope it will be explained (/mentioned) in DA4.

Before you get your hopes up about the odd thing you can "Take" that doesn't seem to do anything, there's another one like it in Valamar if you walk past Hall of the Elders during Well, Sh** (but not while you're doing the actual quest in Valamar whose name I don't remember. There's another one like it in a bunker under Victory Rise in the Exalted Plains, too. I'm thinking they're relics from when the game was in beta testing. Testers might have had to tag various locations to be sure the scripting worked properly. If so, they were probably supposed to be removed at some point and never were. Either that, or they give you a codex entry you already have, so tagging the object does nothing. At least that's the deal with the book behind the tents in the Path of Fire camp in the Exalted Plains.

Or that's my theory, at any rate.

I want somebody to explain that door to me in the Emprise du Lion. It's a dungeon door like the one to Valeska's Watch, but it doesn't go anywhere. Maybe it was supposed to be another dungeon? Maybe an area exit? Maybe it's just level art. We'll never know.

Excellent! I love this (and the ME thread too), especially since I have discovered so much new stuff with every playthrough -- and I'm sure I'll continue to do so in my future ones. Also, I didn't know the astrariums resulted in caves either. Only found that on my second playthrough. (I still remember going, "What cave?!")

I found on my 4th playthrough that Speaker Anais could be an Agent for Leliana and that single action also allows for Deft Hands to be unlocked extremely fast in Hinterlands itself  :P

I... did not know this. <facepalm>

Well, I am too ashamed to admit how many hours it took me to fully discover Skyhold! The winery! And that there is a kitchen! Only when I tried to find clues to Cole's quest. Oh Maker, that one took me like 5 pt's to realize that you can find out he is doing things for people. In several ocasions I told him to stop as I did not know what it was about! :)

I just discovered the winery and kitchen on my third playthrough. And the library! And the Quizquisition guy!

And that there's a nod to Monty Python in the Hinterlands.

And that the multiplayer characters hang out in Skyhold. Damn I have missed a lot of small things during my playthroughs.

I never got the Smugglers Cave Python reference! I'm going back ASAP.

My favorite Monty Python Easter Egg is at the fortress in Griffon's Keep, where if you listen to the sergeant drilling the troops, he asks them to tell him the greatest weapons of the Inquisition and they respond with "fear" and "surprise" (just like the Inquisition Sketch, although they don't add "and an almost fanatical devotion to the Divine"!!) I laughed out loud.

Meanwhile, the biggest "little discoveries" for me were in my second playthrough, and how much I had managed to miss all the Fen'Harel references in my first playthrough. I'm embarrassed to say that at the end of my first playthrough, I was, literally, like... "Who's that again?!" at the Solas reveal. ("Dread who?") Then of course I played again and felt like a complete idiot. Although it was worth it because I really got actual chills at that Fen'Harel wall Codex reveal from the Exalted plains... and THE GUY WAS STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO ME. Really, so awesome. I started trying to imagine that Solas was smirking at each and every wolf statue we passed, too (but in a more funny than mean way).

Also, I never realized until late in my second playthrough that both the second (Dorian) and third (Leliana) levels of the round tower are open-air and look directly down on Solas's chamber. I guess it's lucky my Lavellan in that playthrough didn't get busy with Solas there like she was hoping would happen! But after he dumped her, she would occasionally imagine dropping things on his head from Leliana's level.

I never realized until my third playthrough that Solas's exterior exit leads directly to Cullen's door. I used to run all the way around the roof every time trying to remember where Cullen was (and usually by running the wrong way).

I love the fact that if you listen to the ambient dialogue around you within Skyhold, Val Royeux, etc., that you will hear evolving discussions and characters. I love the way people start out disliking the Chargers then grow to appreciate them. Or how people who had no food express their appreciation next time we pass by. But the one of these that gave me the biggest goosebumps was the man in Val Royeux who, after I'd finished DAI main in my second playthrough, talked about dream-conversations he kept having with MYTHAL. So awesome.

Last playthrough, I got similar goosebumps visiting Cole after beating the game as well. "Forget."

As far as Easter Eggs, I love the "single gold ring" and "They Shall Not Pass" (bridge construction) Lord of the Rings references. I also got a kick out of finding the krogan heads in Caer Oswin and The Winter Palace.

Not that door, no. It's all the way up on the upper left corner of the map. Most folks who find it do so while doing Red Captors/Rocky Rescue.
