4 playthroughs and I finally realized you can break Samson's armor..... durrr. I really enjoyed that whole questline with Cullen! My guess as to why I've never discovered it, is because one of the papers in the Emerald Graves is guarded by two scary giants. This time I decided to sneakily grab it and run away quickly.

Okay most people will probably already know this but I've just figured out how to get the "Red Lyrium" codex entry.
Normally, I would jump over the walls to the fade rift to trigger the fight with the Pride Demon but if you look to your right and follow the path down toward the rift, you should hear Varric comment about the Red Lyrium that you have passed.
Like I said, this is probably old news to most of you but I just discovered this yesterday

In my many playthroughs, one of the most reoccuring things I end up finding is the few schematics I don't have. Like the ribsplitter(?) dagger and the battlemage staff schematic. Just a few that fell through the cracks.
But by far the most amazing discovery I ever had in my early game saves was this:
Silverite + Heavy Armor = Heavy armor for any class
It was by pure accident that I chanced upon that little trick. It's like the heavy version of the Snowfleur Skin Medium armor one. Now I could put my Dalish Knight Enchanter in Heavy Dalish gear!
I also ended up creating a grey warden shield that I could use as a legit weapon (Two-handed animations) on a mage, but I'm not sure how I made that....I would love it so much if I could somehow apply it to other weapons.

Definitely old news to people, but I just moved into Skyhold. I didn't expect the game to unlock extra features such as base customization and armor tinting.

I found a cave on the Storm Coast I never knew existed and I never rush through a game. It had a chest in it that yield scout armor. Then there's Skyhold vault filled with gold. I'm sure I'm missing much more.

Not entirely sure it belongs in this thread but it is something I have only just discovered. I have been re-reading the section about dwarves in World of Thedas and it mentions their belief that when a dwarf dies they return to the Stone to become guiding spirits for their descendants. However, the worst transgressors are rejected by the Stone and left to wander for eternity as rock wraiths.
So in DA2 we discover the ancient thaig with red lyrium and full of rock wraiths, plus an altar with a mysterious idol made out of the lyrium (that reminded me of Flemeth). In the Descent we discover a Titan that seems to regard the dwarves as its children, suggesting this could have some link with their beliefs about the Stone. In DAI we discover that Mythal inhabits Flemeth and in Trespasser that Mythal had a lot of dealings in the Deep Roads involving the dwarves and she seems to have slain a Titan. There is a theory on the boards that the ancient thaig could have been the inside of the dead Titan. If nothing else it would seem that the dwarves that once lived there had been rejected by the Stone and become rock wraiths on death. Could that be because they gave their allegiance to Mythal (whose image was found in the idol) and thus lost their connection to the Stone?

Banter triggers every 15 minutes, I believe, but going to inventory, menu screen, ability screens etc resets the timer. as does fast travelling, possibly even hitting pause.
I've gotten all the Blackwall+Josie ones but after 14 full playthroughs (and 4 in the works) I have never gotten Bull and Dorian together. Or the full chess banter either (Solas+Bull)
Oh my gosh, ALL those things reset the timer? Really?
Hmm I never got this. I don't think I ever told her to join the Wardens. Clarel always sacrifices an old one eyed guy in my playthroughs.
Omg! That's terrible! I've always told her not to join "right now", twice, and the most recent time I made her an agent. I would have felt so guilty!!

Wait, where in trespassers did it say Mythal killed a titan?

Explode the gattlok barrels in the dwarven area and go through the eluvian. Its inside the room past the long staircase where you first see the Qunari mining lyrium, unless I'm confused. Been a while since I played. Leads to a codex and a mural (and a creepy wolf statue with the Heart of Pride staff). Missed that room my first couple of playthroughs cuz I never ventured back after the anchor upgraded.

You can easily miss the reference. In order to explode the barrels you need the ability with the mark that you only acquire after visiting the ancient Library. So you have to allow yourself to be side tracked from the urgency of the main story line (the writers just love doing this) in order to return to the Deep Roads. There you will find the majority has been submerged in water but you can still get to that first section. Walk up to the barrels and use your new rift ability. Beyond is an eluvian. Go through that and it will take you to another area with the story about the Titan. There is a puzzle you have to do but it is not that difficult.

Also I want to add on to this.
There is a treasury you can access in Trespasser once you upgrade the anchor a bit.
I believe it was in the elvhen sanctuary--the one on the island across the bridge. You may be able to identify it as the building where you saw a floating, glowing chalice in its basement that you couldn't get to.
Near the back side of that island there is a little pile of gattlok. Explode it, go through the tunnel and you can find yourself a sizable amount of gold.
...unfortunately, by that point you have nothing to spend it on.

My most recent play through, #3
- I found the Quizquizition.
- I discovered Maryden's Trespasser Song about all the characters.
- Sera invited me to be a Red Jenny; I guess I've never been good enough friends with her before? But that was amazing!
- I discovered that as pretty and sensitive as Cullen is, he can be a bit dense, especially when he jumps on the "Let's kill the Empress" train. I honestly don't think it matches his character to think it's a good idea to murder someone, even indirectly.
- I noticed how quick people can move about for narrative purposes; the moment you read Blackwall's note is the moment a messenger pops up over your shoulder talking to you about that very note. And Cullen arrives at Val Royeux in the time it takes for you to have a 10 minutes chat with Blackwall.
- I discovered that Viv is strongly supportive for a Cassandra Divine (shocking, considering how power hungry it seemed she is/was.)
- Speaking of Viv, I wasn't good friends enough with her to get her "I like you scene" which I had thought was a given if you did her personal quest.
- And unless it was bugged, it's possible that Blackwall didn't like me enough to finish his Griffon Toy. Which I find hilarious, because we were -together romantically.-
- I found an arrow on the Garden Courtyard roof that gave me a weird codex entry about ancient elven arrows.
- People in Val Royeux talk about what's happening in the game almost more than the people in Skyhold do.
- There is a man who practices fainting in Val Royuex and does so as you walk up. It was hilarious!
- I found the Nug King. All Hail the Nug King! Cheese Wheels for everyone.
- I discovered that making Cole more spirit was actually not that bad. Until his forget scene. Then I feel like I'd helped someone kill themselves.

Maybe these aren't little things anyone could miss, very narrative, but they were all new to me. I am curious to find this Skyhold Treasury.

This may be something people already know about, but this was one thing I learned in my later playthroughs:
Vivienne is a hard person to gain approval for if you are even a moderately liberal player. Even suggesting that the Circle has to change with reform nets disapproval with her. So gaining approval with her, but still being honest to yourself, can be something of a challenge if you go the pro-mage route. Especially if you do not utilize some of her Divine Election dialogues that allow to gain a certain amount of greatly approves.
But in my last playthrough I accidentally found a non-Skyhold cut scene where you can gain a decent amount of approval just by asking questions (she temporarily became solas). If you bring her to the Western Approach when you talk to Erimond and simply ask questions, you get a decent amount of approval. And if you choose to go with the attack option ("that's all I need to know") you gain yet even more approval.
So mental note for me: if with low approval Viv, always bring her to deal with Erimond. By the end she should at least be neutral with you.

Somewhere during the 4 attempts into making a man worthy of Dorian, I noticed that in the prison scene, when you are waiting for Cass to come make her accusations, not only are you chained but 4-6 guards are straight up pointing swords at you while you wait. As if you're an abomination that will go Rage Demon any moment. Which they probably think will happen considering Thedas. Even a non mage may be suspected of being a mage, with that glowing green thing in your hand. I just think this is cool.

That's a lot more apparent in Champions of the Just, when Envy re-creates that scene in the prison.
Speaking of Champions, I recently discovered a hidden Masterwork Enchanter armour hidden at Therinfal Redoubt, and I FINALLY discovered the landing where A Nutty Affair can be found.
Although it's pretty minor, I also noticed for the first time that Envy speaks with your voice during the boss fight.

Oh yeah. I wasn't even on an evil playthrough, so I had intentions to reload. But when I got to Imsheal with his choices, I saw Virgins were an option. And I was like, what, really? Do they hang out in your Skyhold Room? Is there like a limited sex scene and then you never see them again? How exactly is Bioware gonna follow through on that?
So it was pretty effin hilarious that I picked Virgins and Imshael was like, "That offering was rhetorical. There are no virgins to give. I should stop offering that."
HAHAHAH Called your bluff, Bioware.
I head cannoned that I also knew virgins couldn't be given. And if you can't GIVE ME THE IMPOSSIBLE, Imshael, then BATTLE IT IS.

Tell it how? I never bother with the Revive skill because my companion mages never do it. Honestly, even as a mage I would forget to do it. I would fade walk to them and just press A.

Found this out a while ago in my current game.....if you give Sutherland and crew pretty armor as opposed to heavy armor (Cullen's option) their quest line ends. I went up to talk to him again and both Voth and Shayde were gone. ![]()

I don't think that's the case. I've spruced them up in silk before and they were fine. Was Sutherland also missing?
And a tidbit (I don't know if it has been mentioned before) but the Save Sutherland's team questline can not be started after the main quest (I think it stops triggering after the Arbor Wilds) since the war table operation won't appear.
