[Mordokai]

I've tried it with asari vanguard. She was my first try, some 300 hours ago, when I felt elated with my success on Silver solos. It soon turned out that my mighty Eviscerator just wasn't going to cut it in Gold.

 

Over the time, I tried many kits and weapons... Carrier TGI, incendiary Reegar batsol, Carnifex smashdept(god, that was embarrassing try... that banshee hug on wave three...), a glitched 66666 claymore huntress, some more tries with asariguard, with Raider, Wraith and probably some other weapons... none of them cut it. Some came close, but something happened. Devices on wave ten, banshee hug, phantom deciding I'd look sexy on her sword... I always came a little short.

 

Today, salarian engineer finally made it. Faced versus geth on FB White, he managed to survive everything the cheating toasters threw at him, fire exploded the lot of them and waltzed to victory in 46:49.

 

 

Objectives were hack(which I didn't managed to glitch, but thanks to decoy, it proved very easy anyway), escort and targets. Three primes and one pyro left me without missiles for cleanup, since I nuked some of them on waves five and nine.

 

So, after some fifty tries(or more) and 500+ hours... I've finally completed my first golden solo

 

Big shoutout to TheTechnoTurian. Your videos inspired me to try my first Silver solo and later, my first Golden solo. It took me a long time to finally make it and I'll never be as good as you are, but I've made it and for that, I am proud of myself. For not giving up, if anything else. So thanks Techno, you're the best!

 

Also, thanks to everybody who ever contributed. When I started playing this game, I couldn't even make it past wave one on Bronze solo. Now, I can solo gold, however scrubby the attempt may be This win is for all of you.

 

I'd try my second solo attempt, but the Arsenal pack that I bought after the win contained a stability consumable, targeting VI and two cryo ammo VI consumables. Something's telling me I shouldn't push my luck any further tonight

8 waves survived - that's quite a bit of "not dying" for your first successful gold solo - congrats.

U might want (or not) to take a look at the N7 serie from presta, as it s quite progressive and makes u slowly a better, if not good, gold soloer (except for N2 III that is)

I'd just leave that there on its own but wouldn't want to risk a warning point. Funnily enough my first Gold solo required an ADAS too, but the fact that I used it on a large hulking beast with regenerating health is not something I'm particularly proud of at this stage.

One of my solos used the adas too. Good gun. Strips shields and barriers, light, lots of ammo, applies priming, staggers, easy to decide what mods to put on it, homing shots. Surprised it never got nerfed below its current specs.

I went into extraction wave with five gels... as such, it turned out pretty mellow. The closer that clock was to 0:00, the happier/more incredulous I was, that much is true.

Yeah, mods can be a little anal retentive these days, I totally get you.

 

As for the next one... I'd love for Valkyrie to be the one who did it. She's a beast in team games, but honestly, I'm not sure I have the skill to do a full solo with her. And against which faction? She's at her most lethal against Reapers, but banshees have a way of sneaking up on me and gutting me when I least expect it. Cerberus does their usual BS routine, so I'm not really comfortable with the idea. As for geth... no sync kills and a lot of shields to replenish my barriers, but also biotic explosions being much less effective and getting close to geth is usually just asking for troubles... Hell, I'd love to do it with any of the asari, but they are just too fragile in my arms.

 

I think Decoy played a big part in this success. Plop it down and the toasters seem to go berserk about it. Seriously, I was amazed at how eager they were to punish that poor holographic image. I hear human engie's drone has similar properties... I may give HFE with Adas a try. More than likely, I'll just do the same setup again, to get that banner I covet so much and fool around with different setups after that
