Ok so I thought about this when I was building the armada in ME3 and I think that MEA should have a space fight. Not just a cut scene fight like in ME2 but and actual you control the ship and weapons kind of fight. Halo Reach did a space fight and I loved it, it was hard and fun. I think that if you do incorporate a space fight it could be with an acturian jade class ship. it wouldn't have to be with a full dreadnought (although that would be fun too) but a space fight would be totally fun!

I'm pretty sure a dog fight with a civilian luxury liner would be generally one sided.
Not against putting the 'Tempest' through her paces in space combat however.

Someone's obviously forgotten how poorly executed chasing the Asari spectre was in ME2 ...

If it was implemented well, I wouldn't be against it.
Would like to see another fight sequence in a space environment, though (remember walking up the side of the Citadel tower in ME1?). With the jetpacks, it can add a zero-G flight mechanic into combat (not sure if BW would be able to implement this, but it was be pretty cool to see). Doubt we'll see it, but it would still be pretty cool if it did show up.

Lair of the Shadow Broker ... with a Jetpack ... hmmmm ...
"Engaging Jetpack"
- FFFFFFFssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss Wheee ... Aaaaaaaaaarrrggghhh! THUM!
DUNDundundun - Mission Failed
Number of broker agents I killed with Singularity/Throw combos sending them flying off into space... it would be a more ignominious end than that of Bobba Fett! Funny though ![]()

Based on past performance, driving simulations, let alone flight simulations is NOT Bio Montreal greatest strength(s). Unless the concept of "fighter jocks" is allowed in MultiPlayer, this idea will never take off... (pun intended).

That wasn't in a space environment, though. Was more satisfying to send geth and krogan flying into space while fighting on the side of the Citadel Tower, imo.

I would love if they allowed us to fly a fighter in space combat. Or even using a bubble turret like in KOTOR.

Not good idea.
Not everyone like flying simulators, especially in space, and many people get motion sickness from them, even when they haven't problem during shooters and such.
Implementation of such simulator as mandatory part of ME would alienate many players and make good looking space flight simulator as optional minigame would be quite waste of resources.

Why do people keep asking for this? Space combat in Mass Effect doesn't work like a WW2 dogfight/Star Wars, it's all computer based.

I wouldn't want a flight simulator mechanic, but Zero-G gameplay, wherein the player can go EVA around their ship or a space station would be a great addition to the title (IMO).

I couldn't fly that aircar in pursuit of my target. So, that whole mission arc went down the tubes.
Proper controls for flight are the Joy Sticks, as keyboards suck at it. Given Bio's past sins regarding proper use of PC controls, I doubt it would work. May be different for console controllers, though.
Edit: I think it was the Shadow Broker DLC.

Depends what kind of ship we'd be dogfighting in. The Normandy (a frigate) is very agile and we see in ME2 that Joker has a lot of control over the ship during a fight. Targetting relies on computers, but that wouldn't affect space combat that much.
We're definitely not getting space combat in ME:A, because they're busy working on land travel with the Mako. But I'd really like to see space combat in a future instalment, perhaps piloting a fighter battling drones like the Oculus. That could be really fun if they got it right. As long as it's not on rails.

I don't really like the idea that Andromeda Protagonist just happens to be a casual fighter ace in their spare time. That and good dedicated flight games are hard enough to find so I don't have great hopes for a minigame.
If they're looking a change of pace I think zero-g infantry combat would be more interesting, or if they need to drop space combat into the story then a turret sequence would be fairly straightforward.

The space combat in SWTOR was alright, not great but alright, and I wouldn't mind something to do other than exploration.

But seriously, I'd really like one, too, especially if it's done as amazingly as in Dead Space.

I really hope that BW isn't going to implement space fights in ME:A. Not a good idea at all.

I think this was discussed in the past. Although I'd like the idea of a space fight, most people wouldn't want to be bothered in learning a new somehow complex feature that probably will have little use, in which case BW will have to make it very simple (something on rails like in SWTOR) and would end up being too 'dumb'.
I guess it kind of make sense having a few space battles here and there, but ME is not a space ship simulator, so I'd rather see those battles nicely executed (unlike ME3 end battle) in some CGI / whatever manner instead of having to control the ship myself.
And you also have the chance that yet again we're going to be flying a Frigate suited for exploration, not combat. So having space fights with a Frigate won't be the smartest idea ever. The Tempest crew will probably rely on stealth or some proper support from the Alliance or whatever the hell is gonna be called in Andromeda.

If there are space battles, I'd rather see them in the form of cut scenes rather than play them. That would be better than having an ill-conceived, poorly-implemented game mechanic shoehorned into the game just to check a box on a checklist.
That one mechanic alone could just as easily be the main focus of some other game. It's extremely doubtful they would be able to create a worthwhile and satisfying gameplay experience for that, on top of everything else, all for what will likely amount to only a handful of gameplay moments. Better to devote that development time, money and resources to the game's core functions to make them as polished as possible.
Leave it to cut scenes, that's my opinion.
