Was curious if this will be a thing. It might be too complicated, but had the idea as I was cheese-ily shooting a phantom in a platnium match through a wall with a AIU/Wraith with geth scanner :D

Well, it's the frostbite engine which is supposed to be good at destructible things. Of course, it ultimately depends on the game but some generally more interactive surroundings could be nice (I am especially thinking about flinging stuff around with biotics).

At most, I'd expect to see chips coming off the sides of cover or the corners of walls because of Frostbite tech, but Mass Effect isn't a destructible environment kind of game. I doubt it would be a priority unless they make cover destruction a core part of the combat.

Like MrFob said, MA:A has Frostbite now, so it's possible. Won't hold my breath, but I'd be all for it.

Oh I hope so, ME had some destructible cover and I really hope for more of that at least. More than just breakable boxes, but not gonna hold my breath on it. Would be very nice though, to me at least.

I doubt everything will be destructible, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was stuff that was.

They actually managed to make some stuff destructible in previous Mass Effect games - Lair of the Shadowbroker for instance - so I wouldn't totally write it off.

Jonathan Perry promoted the destroy the environment in DAI, as an option to create an advantage in a comabt situation.

It really never materialized in DAI and it is a Frostbite 3 in-game destruction feature.

I doubt it will be implemented in ME:A... too much cinematic effort for little return value, in my opinion.

If it was implemented as a way to enhance or change the cover mechanic by making some types of cover destructible then I would be fine with it. If it was implemented in a way that made destroying the landscape possible I think it would just be a waste of time and resources.

It would be interesting if it was finally implemented.

Back before the original Mass Effect released destructible terrain was advertised to be one of the features. It never made it into the final product, other than biotics affecting crates, but was in the first trailer.

3:23 if you want to skip to part showing destructible terrain.

Well, you could destroy certain kinds of cover in ME1&2... Not what ya meant, but it's something.
