I've been playing the game for probably 20 or so hours on the highest settings with beautiful performance. However, as of a few days ago, when I went to open up DAO again, the intro movie was extremely choppy. It would pause frequently and the audio would cut in and out. Additionally, gameplay now drags at a snail's pace, as though everything is in slow motion.

I've tried restoring to a previous date, updating all of my drivers, I've tried the AMD Fusion program, and I've even uninstalled DAO and Steam twice now, re-downloading the full game just in case. I've used every combination of video quality possible to no effect.

So far, nothing has helped. It's more than a little bit frustrating. So, as a last effort, I'm seeing if anyone here might be able to give me some suggestions beyond waiting for the next patch in hopes that it might restore my game to a playable state.

If you'd like my hardware specs, I'll throw them in, but seeing as how I was playing the game perfectly for 20 hours without a single issue, I don't know if it's necessary. Either way, any assistance anyone might offer me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to everyone in advance!

How many saves do you have? I think I read something somewhere that having too many saves can decrease performance.

Including quick and auto saves, I have a total of 16. I suppose I hadn't considered that as an option, but I haven't actually read anything about save quantity interfering with performance. I don't even know if that's an oddly high number.
