Always been a fan of Buffy the vampire slayer? Always wanted to play a vampire, werewolf, demon or a Slayer?

Well, Now you can! With the Ultimate Buffy Mod you will find yourself in Sunnydale where you can hunt vampires and monsters (or be hunted as a monster) at night or chase after them in the sewers! Help the Scoobygang solve the mystery's in Sunnydale or become their arch nemesis'!

Do I need to say more? WELCOME TO THE HELLMOUTH!!!

As the PW version of Buffy is reaching to the point where it can actually be played I would like to inform everyone that we soon welcome everyone to join us in the world of Buffy, the vampire Slayer!


Story of the PW:
It is 2010, it has taken a few years but the community of Sunnydale had pulled together their resources to rebuild the small city back to its former glory.

Also Buffy Summers and the scoobygang have returned to their rebuild homes.

But even in the "new" Sunnydale there are dangers lurking in the shadows and the hellmouth is still very much active...

There, Buffy is training the new potentional slayers to be the next generation of the world's defense against evil...

What do we offer?

- Play as a Vampire, suck the blood from your victims and fight vampire hunters and Slayers.

- Play as a Slayer in training and fight vampires and monsters to keep the streets of Sunnydale safe!

- Become a werewolf and become a wild animal during the full moon!

- Play as a regular human and become a vampire hunter!

- Side with either good or evil, your actions will have consequenses! Become the goodguy or the badguy!

- Join a guild or create one of your own!

- Persistant banking

- Get rewarded for good Roleplay and save up points for special goodies!!

- Name your items!

- 30+ different quest and questlines

- guild questlines for the preset, NPC lead guilds!

- Crafting system for normal weapons (swords, stakes, shields and armor)

- monsters spawn according to appropriate time of day! (So no twilight vampires!!)

- and much more!

There is so much on there that I can only give you a fraction of it so I do not have to spent an entire week writing things down

But its not a lovestory, but you can make one during RP

Slight update on the PW:

- some quests added

- extra merchants added

- spawn areas added

- the Slayer "guild", NPC runned guild with questlines for Slayers, completed!

-special clothing for vampires added.

- custom resting system added.

- Sunnydale a bit more decorated.

Nothing is worse advertising for a new PW than requiring people to register for another forum just to view information about the module.  Make that info available without registering.

I wasn't being cranky, that's just how I talk.  

 

Just giving you some feedback - most players are casual and even those that aren't, most don't like having to sign up for forums just to find out some info.

 

Another suggestion - lots of people, though not all, like to know what sort of server it is in terms of mechanics.  For example, is it a high-magic server with lots of powerful items, or low magic where magic items are rare?  How fast is the leveling/where do you see most people spending their time (e.g.a server designed for spending most time in levels 1-10 is vastly different than one with lots of 40+ content)?  Are you going to restrict multi-classing, edit classes, restrict playable races, etc?  Just some things you might want to add some details to so players can see before joining (e.g. the more info you give, the more likely you are to attract players who stick around).

Thanks for the feedback, Bill. Yes I did not mentioned that and will remedy that!

Okay well simply assumed people knew of the buffy universe (so not counting the comics) but will give as much info as possibly can in my limited timeframe.

As it stands now:

RACES:
Humans ONLY! (The only exception being werewolf, vampire and slayer subrace. Demonic races will be playable in the future)

LOOT

the server will mainly lean on the crafting system, create your own weapons against the forces of evil since apart from simple knives you will not be able to find anything in stores or loot except for specially designed chests that spawn loot randomly in certain areas.

And also bosses spawn certain kinds of loot.

MAGIC:
the BUFFY universe is known for their medium/heavy usage of magic and so the server will be.

NON COMBAT XP
You do not have to be an adventurer and kill stuff to see your character grow and progress, within sunnudale there are tons of "jobs" you can do to earn your keep and gain xp (not as much as with adventuring but not every character has to be an ass kicking superman right? )

CLASSES:
The classes are for the moment only restricted to the base classes. The prestige classes are currently locked and are on the list to be modified

Though VAMPIRES will NOT be able to play divine classes (paladin/cleric) they will be stuck in entrance if they pick that class as their base race and will have that level deleveled once taken.

LEVELS:
As for now the max level you can reach for your character is 20 and can be geared up in the (near)future.


MULTICLASSES:
There is no restriction to multiclassing, just no prestige classes.

ENCHANTING:

Due to the fact that Buffy verse is a moderate to high magic system the module will also handle an enchantment done by magic users (either divine or otherwise).


NPC "guilds"
You can now affiliate yourself with the following groups(some are class/aligbnent/race restricted):

Good guys

-magic circle
-Slayer Organization
-Watcher's Council
-Initiative
- Monster Hunters

Bad guys:

(Coming soon)

REPUTATION:
What you do shifts the reputation of certain groups. If you are doing nasty things you WIL shift your reputation with the good guys, vice versa with doing goodie things.

there are in total 13 "jobs/crafts" that you can work on and as current you can max them all out with granting a small ammount of xp (though by far less than when adventuring)

Interesting screenies. Are you planning on putting the characters in more modern clothes though? Like to make it feel more like watching an episode of Buffy?

Yes I am, the toons i use are just testers so not really putting too much fashion into it.

Am trying to make it look as much as the buffy series as possible

haven't made that many screenies due to my lack of tons of free time but it gives a small example of what kinda monsters you can encounter. The monsters you see here in the screenies are the monsters reaching from level 1-7

 

Most monsters will be closely resembling the monsters and demons from the buffy/angel universe

Minor update:

- The entire town of sunnydale have a bus system added so for a small price it will drive you to the part of town you wanna go to. For now all destinations have a set price but will change , depending how close you are to the destination you wish to go.

- extra "job" areas for your pc to work and earn some coin/xp such as:

+ Pierce Farm: Help out Farmer pierce just outside of Sunnydale to earn some coin.

+ Willy's Bar/place: Work behind the bar, keep up with all the orders the barmaid gives you.


+Bakery: The baker cannot keep up with large order for bread and yumminess. You will be his assistant for the day and make sure the baker got his ingredients so he can make his goods!

+Blood delivery: from the bloodbank you are assigned to deliver the blood to the hospital but beware if you travel by night, you might be attacked by some bloodsucking freaks who want to take the blood for themselves!!

NOTE: some of these jobs require you to actually go out and farm these ingredients in order for you to be able to complete your task.

I am glad, to announce we got the following updates!

- crafting: fully installed and functional

- jobs: for the players who do not want to grind xp by killing monsters we have developed some simple jobs for the pc to do for gold and xp (most jobs are working heavily with the crafting system).

- Quests:most area's have quests now. While you can expect some serious quests there will also be a lot of lighthearted if not even funny quests. Doing the quests alone can easily bring you all the way to max level (lvl 20)

- alignment/reputation: most choices you make during quests or conversation can and WILL change your alignment and how others will see you

- story: the module will consist with a basic storyline for good and evil (yes sorry neutrals you will bs left out the loop). The main story quests will be updated every so often so the player can continue exploring and fighting evil/good.

- special area's: there are special area's which you can only get to by eating, drinking or having a certain object or are of a certain race.

- guilds: for in the meantime the module will only have player run guilds. The factions however will be setup and will have quests for everyone to enjoy and with a "faction" merchant that will ONLY sell if your reputation with that faction is high enough.

- Loot: certain area's do now have loot chests for your character to take

Looks nice. I do not know much about the show, but it sounds like a fun server to try. I like that there are lots of quests, and the option to play one of the baddies.

You can be a badguy yes and play through the story if you want (or just completely ignore it. your call )

 

The show was both heavy as lighthearted with a lot of humor which is what I am intending to try and work into this module/server. So there are several quests within the game which are simply ridiculous and/or humorous (spoiler: burning chicken...)

 

I hope you will try it lil rose, once the server finally releases
