I did a digital download from EAs website for ME2. I can get it completely installed but when I press play it gives me a library load failure 'd3dx10_39.dll' and then tells me to please reinstall, which I have done twice now. Please help!
Library load failure?

Somewhere he shouldn't have. There should be no need to download that file seperately from a non-Microsoft website! (Which wasn't needed anyway, if you read the whole thread.)

That file is part of the normal Direct3D APIs, and if the install somehow corrupted it, the copy of the Dx9 installer on the game disk should repair the damage.

It's on the second DVD, or if you used Steam, there is a repair option on their site you can use. For any other digital download, I have no idea how to fix, other than going to Microsoft for the newest Dx9.

(Now a day later -- I picked up the latest redistributable version later on yesterday. I still use Win2000 for ordinary day to day computing, as opposed to for games, and the latest Dx9 surprised me. They no longer name Win2K as being supported by the Dx9 update.)

You say running the current DxSetup is supposed to fix the problem... but it doesn't. When I try to install I get an error and am told to refer to the directx.log and the dxerror.log files. Frankly I'm tired of hearing people say that's the answer when after running the setup close to two dozen times it fails to install every time.

Not the current DX setup, the setyup for DX9.0c is what is requierd. Thatsthe version that ME2 specifically requires. DX 10 and 11 are not backwarsd compatible enough for ME2's requirements.

All of the setup programs I tried (9, 10, and any other I could find) all ended with an error, referring me to the above mentioned logs.

LOL, just realized how old his issue is for everyone else. Tell me there's been some kind of real solution found, please.
