Situation:

 

I play as Lvl 6 Isabela on Private/Routine/Random to get my Dagger Affinity achievement. 

my skills: Bolt, Flashing Steel, [empty slot], Flank Attack

 

My enemies are Vints and I use Bolt to mark them and to get Elusive from using Flashing Steel on them.

 

I'm tracking Dagger kills, so I always look at the upper right side to see how many kills I still need and noticed something weird.

The kills from Flashing Steel did not count.

 

Thinking I just missed the notification, I decide to test something:

 

I kill a Vint only with standard attackts - the kill counts

I kill one with Flank Attack - the kill counts
I kill one with Flashing Steel (no Bolt pre-FS) - the kill did not count to the Dagger Affinity.

 

Is this meant to be like this, or is it a bug? Because it seems weird to me, that a skill that uses daggers, doesn't count as a dagger kill, when even Devour counts as weapon kill.

 

I know, I could just switch to one of the other DD Rogues, but I wanted to use Izzy for the last few dagger kills.

 

There are really not many left.

Are you using the Hakkon dagger? They are bugged and don't award the weapon kill medals at the end of a match, so they might not even count for the weapon prestige challenge either.

Flank attack uses your off hand dagger, that could be why those count while flashing steel doesn't seem to count.

I don't own any Hakkon Weapons, I'm using Nameless Blade Lvl 24 (right hand) and Dagger of the Dragon Lvl 16 (left hand) on all my rogues.

Always use the higher DPS dagger in your right hand.

 

All Izzy skill use only the right hand dagger attack.

I switched to Argent to continue my Dagger challenge and noticed: Shadow Strike doesn't count either

It really seems so, as if the Poison challenge wasn't hard enough
