Dog does have party banters, too.  The ones DT, sylvanaerie and I mentioned are all party banters, not in-camp conversations.

But he has less banter than others, no?

And I don't play on PC so no dog mod.

I don't know if it's less, but I do know he has banters.  There's an easy way to hear the banters in game.  Go to Orzammar. There are two banter triggers in close proximity to each other and separate zones so each reset.  The first is inside that first area with the paragon statues (just before the gate leading into the main body of the city, at the base of the steps) and a second on the walkway leading to the Proving area.  I put people I wanted to hear banters on, and kept zoning back and forth hitting those banter points listening.  Got to hear most of them that way.

Also Dog gets a special scene the first time you take him to Denerim.  Very cute!

My most used companionsOghren, Alistair and Wynne. Alistair being my tank, Wynne being my healer and Oghren for sh*ts and giggles. I will occasionally use Zevran to unlock potentially locked chests, unless I'm playing as a rogue.

My most underused companions: I don't use Lelianna since I usually always forget to even get her in Lothering and I don't use Sten or Morrigan.

OK, thanks :) usually I go to the Dalish village for party banter but there is only one banter each time at the entrance.

lol yes!  Dog wants to play!  So cute, this 'vicious war hound' seems to love kids.  I also wonder about the child's identity.  He fetches him right in front of Goldanna's home, and she does say she has 'five mouths to feed'.

Over used (Angelica Cousland- Warrior) Alistair, Wynne, Leliana
Under Used (Angelica Cousland) The Dog, Zevran, Sten, Morrigan

She's self righteous, plus her romance of choice is Alistair, whom she married and became his Queen Consort. My Female Amell (Elizabeth Amell) was pretty much the same besides she romanced Alistair to keep him a Warden alongside herself.

^That, and it can be pretty hard to tell them apart visually.  (Anybody know if there are mods out there that turn them different colors?)

The Mabari or the warpaint?  I've seen mabari mods that recolor him (one of my favorites being the St Bernard markings).  Not sure if the dye kit mod affects mabari war paint.

The warpaint.  (Although now I want to hunt down the mabari recolor mods, too.)

If you are using the dog a bit, make sure you take control of him and click on any landmarks you see.

Yes, he is good at finding half-eaten cakes in the mud  :P the perfect gift for someone you hate, you know. "Hey Morrigan, have that piece of 2 years old cake full of worms and saliva that my dog found on the floor"

Marking his territory on a landmark makes him stronger in that area.
But you have to take control of him to do it.
And Sten likes cake, but he might find Morrigan some knickers to replace the ones he ruined.

Not sure if it's the right topic, but I ask anyway:

I have DA:O on PS3 and DA2 on PC.

There is no way to import my DA:O save to my DA2, right? :(  the Dragon age keep is only for DA:I ?

In my DA2 I have to choose then between 3 basic choices, and I have chosen the one with a dead warden, and Alistair and Anora on the throne. Like this I will see King Alistair's cameo.

I just wonder (for people who have chosen this as well), what are the other "basic choices" for that pre-decided DA:O path? it means Morrigan doesn't have a child, what about other cameos? do we see someone else than Alistair? I wish that it meant that Loggy was alive but I guess they kill him in every pre-decided path (but anyway we don't see him in DA:2, we just get a "unfortunately Loghain still lives" from King Alistair, as I've seen on youtube).

I wanted to see a drunk Alistair, too (I'm curious), but I think that for that Loghain needs to be spared and I guess that no pre-decided path involves that...?

For Drunk Alistair, choose the 'dwarven warden'--I think its the third option--that has Loghain dead by killing AD.  I don't think Alistair was executed, just a drunk, and he should show up in Act 1 in the Hanged Man.  If you want some variety I offer up my own save files.

This is a link to several of my save files I used for DA2 variety on my old projects page on the BSN.  As my old hard drive died on me, I posted these up so I wouldn't lose them.

http://social.biowar...ect/8930/#files

Gawain is my King Cousland, Loghain dead, Alistair has his Grey Warden cameo (unromanced), Awakenings file, Amaranthine sacrificed, so you should get Nate's cameo, Zevran, Leliana was romanced, and also has a cameo if you have Sebastian DLC.

Ally was a friend's (mage?) I think Amell, US.  I am unsure whether Alistair is king or warden in this one, but I wanted a file where Cullen and Leandra both mention the Amell warden (related to Hawke and her family).

Neria is my canon, solo King Alistair, Mistress Surana, Awakenings file present, Amaranthine saved (so alternate quest from Gawain's turns up) and Nate, Zevran turn up for cameos Leliana present if you have Sebastian DLC.

Roland was my Loghain recruited (Drunk Alistair).  I don't think Awakenings file is present, so no Nathaniel, you get the alternate quest with the dwarven brothers instead.  I think this was the "Loghain dead version" I uploaded though I did all three scenarios to see new scenes.  Mostly it was for Drunk Alistair.  Loghain has no cameo in DA2 anyway.  Zevran dead, most of the companions ended up dead or deserted Roland.  Leliana romanced if you have Sebastian DLC.

Valora is my Queen Cousland so you get his romanced, King Alistair with Queen cameo.  Awakenings done (Amaranthine saved, Nate cameo present).  Zevran cameo, Leliana cameo (if you have Sebastian DLC).

I tried to go with a variety of saves geared for as much content as possible.  These should give you some variety, though I am unsure if the game (DA2) will recognize them without an Origins game system on file.  Worth a shot anyway.

It's the Old BSN so you may need to relog in (just use the same info you do for this board).  If you have trouble downloading my files, just let me know and I will fix my page, but it should be open to public downloads.

There is also a mod on DA Nexus that allows you to tinker with a world state, but i can't for the life of me recall what it was called.  You can also find other saved games on the nexus for DL and use.  Here is the link to their "Categories" page so you can peruse it.

http://www.nexusmods...ds/categories/?

Okay found the save generator for DA2.  It should be on this page, available for Download.  I think it works similar to Keep in that you enter what you want (Connor saved, Loghain alive, Bhelen king etc).  I don't think you need Origins game system on your hard drive for it to work, so it should be usable with DA2 alone?  Let me know how it works for you though.

Good luck, Vanalia.

Thanks for the links! I must have a problem with my Origins account (or the old one) connexion because the game says I'm not connected to the network, I don't know why.

Hmm.

Anyway, if I choose their basic "warden dead, Alistair and Anora on the throne", will I see Zevran? it would be fun, just to see Fenris being jealous when Zevran tries to seduce my Hawke  :P

Oh, I see that you wanted your Roland to have an evil path, with everyone dead or almost. He wanted to keep Loghain just for himself with no one complaining about it?

Wynne: you recruited Loghain! that's scandalous!

Roland: If you're not happy, go away!

Morrigan: you don't let me have the sex ritual with you or with Loghain!?

Roland: He is mine! go away!

Oghren: I don't like that guy...

Roland: And I don't like you, so go back to Ozrammar!

:P only Dog remains, the perfect trio.

Eh, not as cozy as you imagine.  I only got Loghain to 11 approval cause I couldn't stand talking to him.  I had one map to give him and that's all the bump he got.  Wynne was still with Roland since i needed a mage after Morrigan took a hike.  Oghren I couldn't get rid of.  I kicked out Sten in Haven, killed Zev in Denerim, didn't recruit Shale (the DLC was borked), Alistair went off to climb into a bottle in Kirkwall, and I think this particular import Loghain got eaten by the AD (to get the Redeemer achievement).  So I finished with Wynne, Dog, Ser Gilmore (I used the mod) Oghren and Leliana.

Weird glitch happened though.  I hadn't gone back to camp between doing Redcliffe and Landsmeet and the preprogrammed dialogue with Alistair happened.  So I got to see Loghain standing there with Alistair's voice coming out as a 'ghost' from his spot.  Freaked me out when I heard it. :o

As to the three basic built in choices, I am unsure what secondary factors exist beyond:

HN (first) Alistair solo king, DR done

Dalish (Second) US, Alistair + Anora rule

Dwarf noble (Third) Loghain Redeemer, Anora solo ruler

I know I will have 100 of approval with Loghain and give him all the maps I have. Best friends ever, hahaha  :P

Even if you don't like him he has very interesting lines and talking with him helps understanding better the "behind the scenes" motivations.

Ser Gilmore? who's that?

Ser Gilmore is the redheaded knight in the Cousland origin who helps you find your Dog at the beginning before the siege.  He gives up his life to cover your escape with Mother Cousland from the main hall.  In the mod, which adds him to your group, once  you get his approval up you learn his story of what happened after you left (or the Cousland's died if you are playing another origin).  It was feasible enough for me to accept it as possible, although the dialogue is a bit fan-ficish, he was a really good companion to have along in game (warrior, S&S though i switched him to two-handed weapon specs) and he continues to have dialogues long after the other companions have spoken all they will say.  It really added to my Cousland's story to take him along, one of the few people Roland still trusted.

I couldn't get past Loghain's smug self righteous "I'm right, you're wrong, why did you stop me?" dialogues to stomach talking to him.  Gave up in disgust and just rushed to the finish of the game.  Admittedly, I don't like him anyway, you might have more fun with him than I did.

Yes but it's because it's still fresh for Loghain. As you said, look at him in DA:I : he had time to think about it for 10 years and recognizes his errors.

Loghain also says he has done wrong in DA:O, he says he has much to atone for, when he proposes to sacrifice himself killing the archedemon. So he is aware of his mistakes and regrets them. (But he doesn't regret Ostagar and he is right not to regret it, because I think he did the right thing).

I jus got the Ultimate edition!!  I'm installing all the DLCs, but there are so many, I don't know which one involves what exactly, couldn't find that information on internet. I guess that some of them give new set of armors, some give new quests, I just hope I won't miss some of them in the game because I don't know where to search for them.

EDIT: raah my save from my normal DA:O is not compatible with that DA:O ultimate. I don't know why, even if the seller said it was the UK european version I guess that it's in fact the US version, that would explain why my save is not compatible? I have to start everything from the beginning... I didn't go very far in my new playthrough, but still, grrr.

A brief run down:

The Stone Prisoner is Shale, a new companion who joins you after you find first her control rod from the merchant near the Frostbacks then you go to the town of Honnleath which will pop up after you get the quest to find the golem.  A nice helmet and ring can be gotten here, in addition to Shale.

Warden's Peak starts with Levi Dryden in the warden's camp (after you open up the main camp, not the original one which disappears after you leave it).  It will be located north once you unlock the location.  Once the DLC is completed, it unlocks a storage chest.  Depending on your choices in the keep, you can obtain a nice armor set and staff.  It's also where you come back to forge Starfang, which is a nice sword.

Return to Ostagar can be done any time after you leave Lothering (maybe even before, I am unsure).  It opens up a new area for fighting darkspawn, gathering Cailan's armor and getting a bit more lore.  Wynne, Alistair, Loghain and Dog all have additional dialogue there, though Dog's is limited to one moment, it's a pretty poignant one.

Darkspawn Chronicles is just a hack and slash in an alternate reality that has your warden dead and the player takes on the role of a darkspawn invading Denerim.

FeastDay items is gifts and gag gifts for raising and lowering approval, some are generic, some are specific to certain companions.

Golems of Amgarrak takes place after Awakenings and is an old school dungeon crawl with none of your previous companions joining the warden.  A couple of puzzles and some dwarven lore is all that I did this for.

Witch Hunt is the conclusion of the Origin story where you can confront Morrigan at her Eluvian and speak with her.

Leliana's Song is a prequel, and pretty fun to play.

Most DLC can be completed in an hour or two and I found them fun, though I much prefer Legacy from DA2 to any of them.  Several of the DLC unlock items your warden can use in Origins once you complete the mini-quests to unlock them.

If you have trouble getting any of them to work (like I did at my last reinstall) check out the bottom of this wiki page for more information.

http://dragonage.wik...ntent_(Origins)

Good luck, and have fun.

Not sure why it wasn't compatible, sorry you have to start all over, Vanalia.   :( But that's the fun of DAO also, being able to play it several times in different ways to enjoy as much as you can.  I'd recommend even if you never go past Ostagar to at least play each origin once just to get a feel for them.   :D

I liked some origins more than others, and would play through those, getting bored as soon as i hit the Ostagar part of the game, ultimately restarting again on a different Warden.
