I just got the Javelin II (inb4unmaxedmanifestproblems) so I took it for a spin using the Salfiltrator, and I have to say, this is the wonkiest gun I have used, maybe in any game ever. I know it's just a slight delay, and maybe it's just b/c I haven't played with it much, but it definitely messed with my accuracy. I don't have the Crusader unlocked, and I know I've heard that it has some wonky stuff going on w/ aiming or whatnot, but I can't imagine it's any worse than this. I tried leading targets, tried aiming center mass, and I still felt like some of my bullets were going right through my targets without registering, while others clearly were wide or high but registered. (Actually, as I'm typing this, it occurs to me those problems might have been lag between myself and the host, not aiming issues...but it's hitscan, so maybe not?) Do any of you have any thoughts outside of just playing with it and getting the timing down?

I have to say I like the gun, it's very unique in sound and operation, which I'm a fan of, but that delay is going to take some getting used to.

LoL unmaxed manifest problemsTM

And yes, the Javelin sometimes doesn't register shots and I dunno if it's the Javelin or it's the glitched enemy hitboxes AND the Javelin. But otherwise it's a damn good and fun gun that sounds cool too. Slap it on the GI to master it without lolstunpowers and crack 250k+ every Gold game.

P.S. BTW, on PC I often press both my mouse buttons at once to aim and fire almost at the same time  :)

It's simply a matter of getting used to, and if you keep practising with it, you will get used to it. You can't compare it to Crusader; whereas Javelin has a simple 0.2 second firing delay, Crusader ignores laws of physics in a way human brain is not wired to deal with.

The charge up delay is something you have to get used to. It's definitely a rage inducing sniper rifle if you're not used to it. Sometimes, you can waste an entire clip on hitting walls instead of enemies. I'm not sure if Javelin is affected by lag, I mean, some charge up guns have a firing delay on laggy hosts.

If its a charge up gun i think its most likely to be affected by lag unfortunate.

oh well they'll "find out soon enough, everyone will" ;) :D

Someone hating on the Javelin..I actually agree with it...until I had it around levels 8-9...I didnt like it either....I actually never used it till then to be honest...nor did I know its true power until I coupled it with a GI.  I have seen point blank shots go right thru targets without registering...this is with no lag...it just happens sometimes, Then you 3 shot a fully shielded Prime and it makes up for it.

WONDERFUL sniper IMO. I love it. As mentioned though, it takes a lot of practice to master (maybe more so than any other weapon not named Kishock).

GI + Javelin is insanely powerful, it does take some getting used to the fire delay on it but once you get the hang of it it's totally worth it.

A Javelin shot from a cloaked GI is the single most powerful strike in the game (except missiles ofc :P)

It's the best SR in the game, with the Black Widow. But yes, getting used to it takes some practice. I don't see any adice to give, besides using it to find your rythm with the gun.

"Bravo!"

Is it a laggy host? "Maybe I'll tell you, maybe I won't."

Wave 11 is almost complete soon we can leave. You know I was surprised the Javelin was such a success, when I first used it I had my doubts.

dont worry is just a L2P problem need more exp with the mechanics of the weapon ñ_ñ

and if you on PC i know a wizard :wizard:  a hacker and a raider that could help with that manifest problem

Ah, the Javelin!

The King of all the Sniper Rifles.

No seriously, I totally understand you not getting it right at first. It's a gun that takes a looot of time and patience and practice. It's a gun that takes a lot of love before it starts giving back.

But when it does... Oh, boy! Very few things in this game give me the same satisfaction as a clean Javelin headshot OHK on a full health, moving Phantom. I'm getting my pants wet just by thinking about it!

So powerful, it breaks a Phantom's sword even when it hits her in the face.

Black Widow might be a slightly better performing weapon overall but Javelin is definitely way more satisfying to use.

Yeah I don't think there's any big gap between those guns, efficiency wise. In some situations the BW will be better, in other situations the Javelin will be. Mostly depends on the player using the gun.

Black Widow is much more balanced. It can take mooks as well as bosses and you can quickscope with it which helps a lot and especialy in close ranges. With BW you can take out 3 spread out Centurions in 1 clip in less than 3 seconds. With Javelin it'll take much longer even with RC and chances that all 3 Centurions come at you in a line are slim.

Only on lolinfiltrators. Javelin is a OHOK weapon on a Volus.

Then don't hope for them to come at you in a line, but rather position yourself so that you can take 2 or more out with a single shot.

Besides, discussions like this are useless, as they inevitably fail to take into consideration the Javelin biggest advantage, which is wallhack. It's just not easy to take that into account...

I haven't tried it on the GI yet, b/c my GI isn't specced for snipers, I reserved that build for Mordinbot, but I might have 1-3 respec cards I've got nothing to do with, so we'll see.

Also, for those of you that claim the Claymoar weighs as much as a garbage truck, have clearly never equipped a low level Javelin, b/c it weighs as much as a thresher maw. With the HVB, cloak on my Salfiltrator had a 15 second cooldown   @ least you can get the lolnon-DLC glitch to compensate some. That reminds me, I need to use my Kishock some more soon too.

Also Ocelot, among the builds Aedolon mentioned, the GT one is pretty amazing and it's also great to learn how to Javelin, since it forces you in cqc to get the best out of your abilities.
