Uhhhmmmm...I would like to point out a fact-- husks & abominations have heads too...so, why should they be allowed to keep them?

Because they moonwalk and generally have no idea where to go next (just like any other enemy), but they are also slim and harder to hit.

If it's on cooldown, you back away or run past, if they are far away - you let them come, since they don't shoot.

I think I'll just shoot them. I don't see why I wouldn't.

I never target husks with javelin - I leave those little, unworthy targets for my teammates. This has NOTHING to do with any of these ridiculous allegations that some people constantly miss them.

The rifle's performance is pretty incredible, but I can only use it for one round before I want to punch geth babies because of the constant VVRRRRPPP sound every two seconds. Its primary advantage is the free thermal scope, which is awesome in isolation, but becomes much less a big deal given crutch scanner and huntard mode.

But that WRRRPPPP sound IS the reason to use it

If It didn't have that sound I'd probably use it more than simply to do its challenges before switching back to the glorious M-98 Widow.

Good thing you don't play with Bucker, he runs around spamming that whenever he isn't shooting something.

That's the reason I carry it as a secondary on some builds, I don't even fire it.

A pro tip: you can quickly press the fire button without shooting on the Javelin to annoy your teammates.

It sounds like a singing Geth.

The ammo issue becomes a non issue when you master the weapon and get it to a higher level. I rarely need to TCP with it. Primes aren't so bad because their heads stay relatively stable. Banshees are the ones that are tough to headshot. Fiending headshots on bosses is important.

Well right... I was talking specifically about a low-level Javelin, where you literally need your entire ammo reserve to take down a single Geth Prime.

It's really strange how single-shot sniper rifles have such a low capacity at low levels when compared to other weapons, Javelin being the worst of the bunch in that regard. Javelin I has only 30% total damage capacity of Javelin X, while Indra I has 65% of Indra X. What, exactly, were they trying to achieve here?

I completely agree, I have never understood why game devs seem to want to give high damage/low RoF weapons **** for reserve ammo. And this is far from the only game that does it

Maybe because the Javelin is crazy OP to begin with. I'm not sure how much Jave 1 has again, but my Claymore on new account had like 12 ammo at level 5 or 6. And have been doing fine with just that. Even Soloed Platinum for Lone Wolf with that Claymore.

EDIT - in other words. Focus more of making the shots count. And don't forget to eat your OPs packs for breakfast every now and then.

Spare ammo on the Javelin I is five (5), not including the shot in the chamber.

Riiight.

The heaviest weapon right after Spitfire. Lowest ROF, which makes it the most unforgiving weapon in close quarters. Good but totally unremarkable long-term DPS (lower than Incisor, would you believe it).

Sure, it has its upsides to make up for its deficiencies, but OP? Hell no.

Processing.... a heck with it. Where is kalance....

Yes, it is "5" at level 1 VS Claymore "8." But SR has better pierce mods + doesn't need a smart choke, leaving you free to slap an easy to max right away un-common spare thermal clip mod to bump that ammo number up to "9." Having more rarer maxed thermal clip gear, it bumps that number up to  "11."

So what do I win for doing your homework for you? Better be that "nerfing AIU in progress" gif I've been looking for forever.

When you're playing the weapon, weight don't matter as much.

And a well played Javelin owns the battlefield. Because one shot to rule them all. And jave is also the best one shot weapon VS bosses too as a bonus. So melt that liquid metal slug (like weapon description says) and fire all things down.

It's the best Salarian projectile sniper rifle sold on the Flotilla, especially with the omniblade attachment.

Learning to get a real handle on using the Javelin to it's full potential was one of the best experiences I have had playing MP..I never used it in SP....I went back into SP and did an Infiltrator run w Proxy mine as a bonus power.. GI Shep is fun   ..I cant really recall using it before it got to levels 6 or 7 in MP..I imagine, like the claymore..that the ammo count is really low..even if you use the extended clip

I have 600 hours and a Jav 7, and I simply can't Jav. I'm a decent player, but everytime I give it a go, I immediately change lineups the next round. I just don't have the patience to learn it at this point.

CSR is not even an SR, because it can't shoot across Dagger or Rio  :P
